When you have a sibling as talented as Sam, its understandable you'd want to follow other interests.

His twin is now working in London as a solicitor, so a bit closer to Sam.

It would be great if his parents were able to get over for the England games.

A major part of the problem, for me, is that his acceptance, and indeed rewarding, of mediocrity from some players has a negative effect on the moral and motivation of the rest of the entire playing staff, not just the team in the game.

Sam Hain and Will Rhodes must be fed up of having to effectively open the innings everytime due to the failing of the openers.

I can see both consiering options to move elsewhere. Remember if Rhodes resigns the captancy, and Robinson remains who will be inflicted on the club as captain!

It is effectively an "England A" squad as the world cup squad are all rested.

A very different 2nd team, with lots of non contracted players.

Good to see the management have decided that a better opening partnership was needed.

I do wonder if the back injury, and illness are "Diplomatic" to avoid Robinson having to admit to dropping his favourites :-)

At last the management have realised the openiners were not performing well enough.

The "diplomatic" back injury may last till the end of the season!

It is for the club to provide the enviroment and opportunities that will ensure the players, who are performing well want to remain at the club.
I'd suggest the head coach playing favourites, and rewarding mediocrity doesn't help with that!

Has signed acontract extention to the end of 2024, with a player option to extend further.

This is good news, and hopefully a sign that he will be used as the first choice keeper in all forms of the game next season.

You have to wonder how some qualify for a work permit.

There is no point signing an overseas player, unless they significantly improve the team, otherwise the cost is better invested in developing our own players and coaches.

There are a number of options to open, I believe Hamza will still be involved with Eng U19 games, so Rhodes, Bethell or Mousley would all be viable options. Some might even say an improvement on Davies!

We have a coach who not only accepts mediocrity from some players, but actually promotes it by giving out full county caps to three players when the range and quality of their performances did not deserve that honour.
By allowing, certain players, to under perform consistantly, it has a negative effect on the rest of the squad.

Significant changes are needed to re-establish a winning culture, where excellence is the minimum expected. That probably needds the removal of the head coach, and a large change to the playing squad. We have players who have been on the staff for 3-4 years and are nowhere near being a valid first team option, as well as players who get selected for every game, regardless of their poor performances.

In any workplace, sport, factory or office, management expecting mediocrity from their favourites has a demoralising effect on the rest of the workforce. This season 3 full county caps were awarded to players who did not deserve the honour, based on the level of performance that was previously needed to earn a full county cap.

While Robinson remains as coach that is not going to change, as a club we should not be accepting mediocrity, and definately not from capped senior players.

There is a coach with a 100% winning record as an international head coach, as well as lots of experience coaching international and franchise sides.

Time for TP to return.

Depends if there is any play. Ultimately if there is no play there would be a bowl out.

Nobody, apart from Mark Robinson possibly, would select Davies ahead of Sam Hain. If Chris Woakes is available, he has to be selected.
The case for Mousley and Benjamin is weaker, especially as Jacob Bethell and Kai Smith have performed well and are both improving players.

We do not want to repeat the "errors of Badbatch" who left Bell and Trott out of a semi final that we lost.

If Available of out "unwanted competition" Players

Hain YES
Woakes YES
Moeen Yes
Briggs YES
Mousley Yes
Benjamin Maybe
Davies NO NO NO

It was a very poor shot, again!

It seems that he doesn't learn from his previous poor dismissals
