Losing Keith would be a major loss, hopefully he can be persuaded to take a part time advisory role.
It may be the entire coaching staff, or just a toxic individual or individuals who may be coaches or players.
It is concerning, and puzzling, that the only signing announced is a one year extention for a player who already had two years left on his contract, and will be well over 30 at the end of the original contract, and likely to be experiencing a decline in performance. Surely that is the wrong priority?
Seems he has decided to retire, to persue a new career.
His decision leaves us without a quality keeper on the staff, with the inexperienced Kai Smith the likely first choice.
Sadly the quote from Larsen suggests that a, desperately needed, change of captain won't be made.
An excellent first international fifty for Jacob. hopefully the first of many
There can be a difference between the laws of the game and the playing conditions for each competition.
In view of the recent propoganda film about Davies, the North Korean communist party would be proud of that film, I'd not be surprised if there are no changes made.
It was a really well shot and directed film.
I think the club should, at least, talk to him, he looks like he could be a useful player given the opportunity.
I'm sure he was mentioned in the "end of contracts" thread. :-)
George Thomas of Somerset seems to be the best of the players marked as released. He's a good young all rounder, that might be worth a look at.
As he didn't play in the last few 2nd xi games, failed when he played with the U18's, and was in the llast few SACA games, I expect that Amir Khan has been released.
He was the only full time contracted player to never appear in a first team squad all year.
There does seem to be a general misunderstanding that left arm finger spin is not "off Spin".
Bum Phillips was a very good coach, one of the best of his generation, his son, Wade Phillips, was one of the best specialist defence coaches ever, and is still working in his mid 70's and the grandson is also a good coach at NFL level.
He's consistantly performing well for Ireland, and doesn't miss many games, both of which are rare for our recent overseas players.
Both are included in the squad for the "White ball" trip to the West Indies.
One possible option as an "Overseas" player, for part of next season would be Mark Adair, who is the leading all rounder for his country, and is a British citizen.
Strange that a British citizen has to be classed as an "overseas" player, but non brits were not classified as overseas.
We can but hope!
At least South African teams & players get to the big moments.
Do we really want more players that either come here and don't try, that sign a long term contract then go home after a single game, or who arrive with a pre existing injury that they have not disclosed?
