Looks like he is meant as a Tim Bresnan replacement.

A fantastic tribute to Shane Warne at the MCG this (Australian) evening. Very moving to hear from his children about their obvious love for their dad.
I would have loved to be there; but at least I can say that I was there when he took his 700th Test wicket all those years ago.
And as a lover of Peaky Blinders, I was amused to hear that he emailed the producers to say that he would like to appear in the series but was told that porcelain veneers weren't too common in 1930s Brum

Yes, thanks, Jon, for finding a solution that will work at least for the time being.

According to the link, the match referee is Will Smith.
Let's hope none of the players mentions his wife.

Over 160 overs bowled and just five wickets fell in two days. Hard work for the bowlers.

I don't think it's happening.

I don't suppose too many were planning to go to Canterbury next week for the match against Kent but the Kent website says:
"Due to important development work around the ground, including the restoration of the Frank Woolley Stand and replacement of seating in the Colin Cowdrey Stand, this match will take place without any spectators permitted."

Might he be on his way to higher things?

With Mark Wood's injury, a debut for Liam Norwell is maybe creeping closer.

This looks like an interesting development.
Good to see the Bears getting away from Edgbaston and into the county.

I note that it's not stated whether the Bears will be playing these matches as Warwickshire or Birmingham.

Great to have you back on board, LE.

Well deserved!

I hadn't thought about the Russian Bear connection!
At least we haven't had a Mr. V. P. of Moscow posting yet. And all those who have posted spam messages (Russian or otherwise) have been banned so are not still on the site.

This brightens up what was a blank space and is a reason for using the stairs rather than the lift:

What do others think?

Peaky Blinders series 6 is set to air:

The only cricketing connection I can see is that I believe that Ian Bell went to the World Premiere this week. My invitation must have got lost in the post.
Anyway, I can't wait to view the first episode.

Information (at second hand - I wasn't there) from Paul Farbrace's talk to the Cricket Society.
Alex Davis is likely to keep wicket in T20 and be available to reinforce the batting in 4 day and 50 over cricket.
In addition, Paul Farbrace sees Michael Burgess as having potential to play for England, in which case, Alex Davis could take over the gloves in all cricket.

Other than George Dobell saying it's going to be Matt Mason, I haven't seen anything.
Maybe if anyone is going to the Cricket Society meeting at Edgbaston tomorrow, they could ask Paul Farbrace for an update, since he is the guest speaker.
