Poor bowling again from our seamers, bowling into the pitch and it is sitting up to be hit by Notts. Wides, leg side and short length balls just getting punished. It is putting too much pressure on the spinners who have done well but too much of it and the batsmen start finding their lengths to hit.
Miles & Brookes together are too similar, tall hit the deck bowlers who send down too many wides & 4 balls. You need a crafty seamer who can take pace off and vary lengths etc.
I thought we were poor in all departments vs Derbys the other night.....which is ok as otherwise up to then we had been really good.
I hope we do not fall away after a good start to the campaign like last season
Much better bowling!
Good stuff from OHD there, nice and straight to a new batsman
Agree about the losing the toss. It probably cost us a result of some kind last week.
This has been poor imo though from us. Once the first 6-8 overs went we have been very average with a 4 ball being bowled virtually every over.
Poor not to have a 3rd man in place until the horse had bolted and too many balls on leg side easily dispatched.
We are making young Middleton look like Compton
Have we never heard of 3rd man?
Poor bowling and poor field positions. Absolutely gifting Hants runs here.
Norwell fantastic, if only he could stay fit.
Brilliant end to an otherwise horrible season!
The powers that be need to bloody learn from this.
Wow
Just wow
Fantastic effort in this game whatever the outcome against a good team.
Had we played with this positivity and determination throughout the season, we would not have been in this position.
Pointless putting Briggs on here
We need Norwell & OHD with catchers in situ..........nowt left to lose now
Edit to that, we may as well give Brookes a couple of overs and ask him to bowl as quickly as possible to see if he can do anything...........runs do not matter now
Hants already dragging their feet making field changes for no good reason
I bet they will not bowl any spin either................umpires need to get them moving

Weather is fine for tomorrow its Friday that's the wash out.
Yes you are right, my mistake
Looking like a complete washout tomorrow
Bat out tonight and start swinging once we have seen out a few overs tomorrow, it is our only chance.
Bess has just inside edged one inches from his leg stump!
We cant accuse Gloucs of not trying...................well played them. Just bowled Yorkshire out!
And now Hants lead
I know we had to declare due to weather taking time out of the game but we now have too much to do.
Just watch Gloucs beat Yorkshire as well, leaving it in our own hands.
This is just not going to happen
They have 4 wickets left and are now only 15 behind. A reasonable lead going into the last knockings of day 3 and we will be done for.
Once again we cannot seem to take wickets further on into an innings, it has hurt us all season as has our batting.
Somerset's bowlers currently going for close to 5 an over
They are on the beach unfortunately, we have nobody else to blame for relegation than ourselves.
I don't want to speak too soon but at least Brad Wheal is bowling short, wide and overpitched for Hants as much as he did for us.
60 partnership for the 7th wicket at Kent for Somerset.
Overton will always be an issue if he is up for it with ball in hand..........
Yorkshire already have 1 bowling point
The Gloucs team that we could not finish off last week are currently 47/4 after them electing to bat first............do we think that Yorkshire will let them off the hook?
Thought not!
The club have 2 ways to react to this for next season.
Personally, I will be unhappy if we do not see a good number of the young players mentioned above being given starts in division 2. I would not be unhappy to see Briggs, Sidebottom, Davies and even Rhodes moved on.
