Is it the pitch? Or great bowling? Or bad batting?
Not going well so far, to put it mildly.
I must confess I'd forgotten all about him. He's all but 29 years old and has a FC average of 21.9 so I reckon red ball cricket is over for him and it doesn't look great for white ball either.

It's only a couple of hours ago you were saying that umpiring had probably cost us any chance of the title.
We did a lot right in that game (our bowling and fielding in the first innings of the game was magnificent) but took our eye off the ball in two or three sessions which cost us dearly. We don't have truly outstanding players so have to rely on everyone playing their part and we had a couple of passengers in this game.
Nah, if you have a go at the umpiring you also have to have a go at our poor play. Mistakes everywhere you look.
Three iffy decisions didn't cost us that game. Our 1st innings batting and letting Hants go from 173 for 7 to 322 all out cost us the game.

They said on comms earlier that it wasn't a 74 for 8 (or whatever) pitch and they're right. The bowling has been pretty accurate, the fielding has been very good and some of the batting has been brainless. I don't think there are any demons in the pitch rendering it unplayable: it's just done enough.
It doesn't get much better than that. They edged everything and we caught everything, including the one we dropped.

So good to see Woakesy playing a Test for England again and taking wickets.
