Gone away from us at the end there - Turner played a great innings tbf but our bowling didn't necessarily help.

That's a defendable score when it could've been a cruise.

Have to hope the reason they struggled was cause we bowled well up front rather than a tricky wicket. Excellent from Ali in particular who will be a big miss.

Yeah, Bethell has to play going forward even when Hain returns. On current form you would say Benjamin drops out.

Even though Woakes should be available to play for us if he isn't playing for England, I'm not expecting him to be available at any point.

I said before a loss may help us find a better formula that gives us more chance of winning the competition and we are starting to get closer to finding our best formula, but the seamers are still an issue. Not sure Barnard offers a fat lot in this format, and then we still have the conundrum of Brookes/Miles.

But a good win with some tricky fixtures ahead. I would say 3 wins from the last 5 gets us through, and 4 wins gets us a home QF.

Was a slightly strange declaration, I get the idea but surely we wanted to amass as many runs as possible.

I also noticed that Ethan Brookes was 12th man, there was another lad with him as well who I didn't recognise, anyone know if he's also one of ours?

Miles being dropped is bad from his perspective.

We need at least 180 here I think, and should be able to reach it with 7 wickets left still after 14.3

I think if we are in a position to follow on we should enforce it.

Either we bowl them out cheaply and haven't had too many overs in the field (with a break in between) so should be fresh enough to go again. Or they'll have batted for a while and we won't have enough time to bat again and then bowl them out.

I think we score faster too. It's been a big criticism of mine last couple of seasons.

Even disregarding bonus points (and Bazball) I think we scored too slowly previously, especially last season.

This season has been much better - even if not perfect.

I was also one who was critical of Rhodes but last couple of championship matches he's shown his worth as a player (haven't questioned his captaincy in his dry batting spell)

Commentator mentioned early on that last time they used this wicket Notts posted a big first innings score and then bowled Durham out twice cheaply.

Let's hope for a repeat, we looked to have done our bit so far, mostly down to our two best players

Two match loan to Durham (and has a wicket already).

Can only be good as his confidence and body language looked shot on Friday

What's happened to Norwell? Is it still a sore back problem or something more serious? He's missed 2 months of the season now.

We've been told back spasms that keep flaring up when he's on track for a return.

But that's multiple games now where they've said he'll target/play and then he's not in the squad - which suggest maybe something more serious than they realise

I remember the Worcester 142 as well but on that day I think they batted poorly rather than us bowling exceptionally.

I've been critical of the bowling unit but yesterday I think they did bowl exceptionally. Our dismissals were mostly poor shots, their dismissals were mostly good balls. Mousley and Mo we're excellent.

Am also glad I'm backed up on the Mousley decision as posted straight after it happened and first response was saying it was hitting middle and leg!

Although in Mousley's defence, it was a shocker from the umpire. Missing leg by a long way

And not only that, both of them to a bowler who already had two wickets. Whatever happened to seeing the best bowler off

The only upside is we still have time to find a winning formula but I'm not sure exactly how we do that with the personnel we have.

Moeen and Woakes will go so Davies will go back to captain - that's one issue sorted.

Benjamin needs to find form or be dropped. Maxwell needs to do something. Assuming we work those two things out we're in a better position.

But Miles and Brookes are not good enough. As someone else said both are constantly getting walloped. Our death bowling is non-existent. Hassan Ali needs to be fit and good enough to carry both.

As a bowling unit so far this is as poor as we've had T20 wise.

Hassan and Norwell both "targeting the Notts championship game". Does that mean they'll be fit? Not sure.

Anyway, now that Moeen is off to England he may not even play this one.

Woakes and Yates in for Moeen and Barnard? I think we'll stick with Benjamin as we know he can be destructive on his day and management will hope that by keeping him in he will find some form at some point.

Well, he's officially been called up for the first two tests.

Back to AD as captain for Blast.

Most things already said so wouldn't add much by repeating them all but Maxwell is not a 3 and will benefit being lower down the order, so the batting lineup suggested above makes sense.

I wouldn't bring Rhodes in personally, we've seen he struggles in T20.

Having said that Sam was limping a bit towards the end so our hand may be forced. Praying he stays fit because if anyone levels the one man team argument at us ATM I'm not sure we can argue too much!

Hassan Ali should help as well with the balance of the attack. And I think the balance of the team in general is a bit wrong. We used 8 bowlers yesterday and then had a 4 man tail.

Well we can't win em all and Derbyshire had one of their better days.

Better for us to lose now to a) get a bad game out the way and b) learn where our weaknesses are so we have time to rectify (although I do fear somewhat based on recent history we won't).

One thing I will say is how many times did we try the reverse sweep/lap today? Not one worked

That is surprising!

Is it me or can you not see the ball on the stream?

I'm really not sure who drops out for Moeen, it has to be a spinner but Briggs and Lintott have both regained form last couple of games, and if you take Mousley out you lose his batting.

If you take Brookes or Barnard out you only have two seamers.

I think it might be Barnard.

Same XI then?
