Warwickshire travel to Knypersley CC tomorrow for a 50 over warm-up game against National Counties side Staffordshire. 11am start.

Squad:
Taz Ali
Ed Barnard
Edward Batchelor
Michael Booth
Michael Burgess
Olly H-D
Jake Lintott
Will Rhodes
Hamza Shaikh
Che Simmons
Kai Smith
Theo Wylie
Rob Yates.

We won more games than any other team in the comp and also have the top run scorer and top wicket taker.

100 (54) for Mo but no one else seems to be able to time it like he has tonight.

Bears won the toss and elected to bat.

Barnard comes in for injured Hain.

This one is being shown on Sky.

Great effort to get close from 11/3. Hain, Bethell and Garton can hold their heads high.
We gave them 20 runs too many with poor bowling and fielding.
Miles is just not good enough and the Kiwi is bang average. Hopefully those two can be replaced by Gleeson and Hassan for the quarter final.
Northants are a useful side but we will face better teams in the knockout phase.

100% agree with this. Add Gleeson and Hassan and the bowling is then at the same strength as the batting, a more balanced side. Anyone can have a bad game but with a balanced side it doesn’t impact the game as much.

Got closer than I thought we would but the early wickets did for us.

Bears win the toss and bowl. Same team.

While it is good to stick with a winning team it might be a good idea to bring in a couple who have not featured throughout just in case injury etc forces a change upon us at quarter and final days.

Yes, good point. I believe a player has to have played at least 2 group stage games to be eligible for selection in the finals rounds.

It’s an unchanged squad of 14.

Quarter finals take place 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th September. Dates and opposition will be known after the final group games on July 19th.

Hopefully we’ll have Gleeson back for the quarters.

Great to bounce back with a good win.

Quarter final place secured.

198/2 a decent total after a slowish start. Good to see Mo get his first 50 as a bear but Mousley and Hain show their class again.
Probably a wise decision to play the extra seamer.

Derby won the toss and bowl.

Miles in for Yates.

Player of the match last game, villain of the match this time. Cricket eh?

There’s nearly always a game like this, brings you back down to earth after some pretty good highs. Garton will get the brunt of the bad press but, with a couple of exceptions, the whole team were below par.

Let’s hope we can bounce back tomorrow.

Hain now gone cheaply, not our night tonight.

Benjamin is keeping wicket
