The batting is very much weakened, a very difficult decision if we win the toss.
Batting first on what feels like a bowl first day on a pitch where nobody seems to know what a good score is. And we have a particularly weakened batting line up. Wish we'd have won this toss.
Welcome to county cricket Zen Malik. You’ll get plenty more of those sort of decisions if you have a long career.
I’m hoping this pitch turns out like the pitches early in the year. Too slow to be a good bowling track, but there’s already been some movement off the pitch and some inconsistent bounce.
How are supposed to compete with so many players missing?
A lot on Burgess and Rhodes here, shame Barney went, looked like he was going well. Irony is the England A game against SL is affected by rain, so Hamza has his feet up when he could be batting at Rugby!
Umpires at it again I see...
Not sure how the umpire could give the run out. I always thought any doubt and the decision goes with the batsman and that was so tight that it looked in to me.
Could get bundled out here
Well that was a stupid end to the innings. Why not just knock it around and get to 200 at least?

It's a 48 over game isn't so 200 was never realistic.
Stupid way, both Benjamin and then Smith got out, the latter, even worse as it was a carbon copy from 3 balls earlier. Surprise, surprise, it's our batsmen getting out to part-timers yet again, why do we do it so often, the word must go around the counties, "Bring your trundlers and part-time spinners on, Warwickshire will find a way of gifting you wickets". We might even find a way of finishing 3rd and an away fixture in a quarter-final.
There’s definitely plenty in it for the bowlers.
The spinners seem to be benefitting from the batsmen being unsure if it’s going to grip or skid on.
Bit unlucky with the dismissals of Malik and Rhodes. Thought Barnard and Burgess got good balls.
Benjamin and Smith need to have a good look at themselves. Stupid decisions that showed a lack of maturity, or not interested in buckling down and doing the hard work.

Oh fair enough, still think we could have eked a few more runs out though and in a low scoring game that could be important, going pretty well so far though!
Anyone know what's happening there? Suddenly a lot of action in all the games that affect us. I see it's a rain delay now but the forecast looks OK. Any idea of the par score? That wicket just before they went off might have helped...
Par score is 81.
Plus they’ve faced 10 overs. So if they didn’t come back on, we would win.
Although we might get a win today, it looks odds on that Glamorgan will beat the Yorkies. So a QF match it is then.
"You can take the boy out of Atherstone, but you can never take Atherstone out of the boy !"
"The Bears and the (footballing) Foxes for ever !"
Is also a possibility we get caught by Leicester and end up third. We really don't want an away QF...
This is where the decisions of Benjamin and Smith are going to hurt us.
Hayes and Moore’s know they should just go along at 2/3 an over and put away the occasional bad ball. That’ll mean they’re in it with 5 to go. Make us get them out, instead of giving it away.
Whereas Benjamin and Smith didn’t just bat and put runs on the board.
