James Fuller is no joke with the bat and an extremely handy player to have in at 9.
Good day for us, we'd have definitely taken that when we lost the toss. Well pleased.

A great day. Think that last session shows that it’s a good batting pitch, and the bowlers did really well to get Hampshire out cheaply.
Considering Abbott and Abbas are two of the best bowlers in the league, and there was plenty of cloud cover, it’s an even better outcome.
Excellent day hopefully the openers can carry on where they left off this evening. That is weather permitting, I haven't seen the forecast for down south.
Forecast is a bit iffy for tomorrow and then Sunday looks like a potential wipe-out.
Saturday, from what I have just seen, is the dodgy day and Sunday might see more play. Important tomorrow that we bat long and score at a good lick and get a good lead. If we could bat all day tomorrow, it might be that only Sunday gives us a chance to win.

From the weather forecast I saw I think it will be simple to bat all day tomorrow - I don't think there will be many overs bowled. I just hope the forecasters are wrong.
The weather tomorrow could go either way - there will be heavy showers around so if one or more of those pass over the ground there could be lengthy delays, but there’s also a chance it could stay dry all day.
So it's either going to rain or it isn't. I think the forecasters have covered all bases there.
Delayed start. We're not having much luck are we...
With Rhodes at 3, we’re basically 2 down every time we lose the first wicket.
I get he’s a championship winning captain etc but he hasn’t scored good runs for 2-3 years now. He’s being carried, and you can’t win anything carrying a player like that.
Agree about Rhodes. This game will very much depend on whether Hants have any decent bowlers beyond their opening pair.
Davies is vice-captain right?
This Hain/Barnard partnership is looking a good one and a decent rate. Holland/Dawson are very ordinary bowlers but you can bet that Abbas and Abbott will be a different challenge. A lead of 100+ tonight with a few wickets in hand would be a good day and then we will just have to hope we can get enough time left at the weekend to help us out.
249/4. Hain 85 and Barnard 37 not out, a good partnership. I think we need to get a move on with tomorrow looking like a washout. See off this new ball first though....
Barnard, looking like a really good signing and not looking overawed by being in division 1.
I think that represents a really good day's work against a strong team - well done to them!
I agree that the forecast suggests that tomorrow may be a wash-out. But, as I said in my preview, there are lies, damned lies and weather forecasts.
We are hammering them out of sight and the only that prevents us winning here is the weather.
Excellent work by Hain, Barnard and Burgess.
Hain seems to be batting much slower this year. But Burgess and Barnard really upped the rate, got the 2nd and 3rd batting bonus points. Hopefully we get some play tomorrow, these 2 continue, get a 200-250 lead and we’ll see what happens.
Either way this is a great response from last week against a decent team and one of the best attacks on the league.
The weather this spring had been pretty abysmal. We lost the whole of the first day at Taunton which cost us a win in the end having been in such a dominant position. We just about got over the line against Kent despite a lot of rain during the 4 days. We had awful batting conditions against Surrey, but probably would've still lost that match. The weather looks like wiping out most of tomorrow at the Rose Bowl, again we are so well placed in this game and will have to go for it on Sunday which looks dry and fairly sunny.
Another very good day. Pleasing that all the batters in the team, with the exception of Rhodes have now scored strongly at some stage this season. Shame about the forecast for tomorrow.
