Durham a good side who have recruited fairly well alongside some excellent homegrown players. Typically a hard place to go, a ground we seem to struggle on. Will Bedingham be back, will Doggett debut?

Any changes? Forecast seems decent again.

The Bears main problem is a raft of injuries and unavailability in the bowling attack. Rushworth barely played last season., but is injured yet again The absence of OHD is also a major blow. Not being able to call on Woakes is frustrating at this almost crisis time is a similar scenario to 12 months ago. I understand that Hasan Ali won't be joining the squad until the the end of May?

We can't call it a crisis anymore, happens every season and is the norm now. I'd probably go for the same bowling line up and hope Fernando can have more of an impact

I think it's right that Hasan Ali isn't due until the end of May. But the good news is that he has been playing again in March for the first time in a year so presumably his elbow injury is healed. And he has been very successful - in four T20 matches for Sialkot, he has taken 13 wickets for just 135 runs.

Simmons didn't bowl in the second innings on the second XI game - perhaps he comes in for Booth?

Just Simmons added to the eleven that played against Sussex. Lintott and Briggs not in the squad.

Durham won the toss and chose to bat.

Pity we lost the toss but 2 down for 104 is better than 120-0. Good that Booth got a wicket, he got undue criticism on here last week, he was tidier than other bowlers v Sussex and beat the bat many times more than most of the other bowlers.

Is Fernando a dud?

Fernando has played Test cricket but his record is not that good, he is no Chaminda Vaas.

Three wickets now ... yeah appreciated he got some underserved stick last match. I think the fact that Che is only just behind Booth (but deservedly) is a good situation to be honest, they can egg each other on. We get two academy products who can compete at FC level we're in a better place suddenly.

From 174-2, we will take 249-7, well done bowlers, now lets get rid of this tail which has been a problem for a few seasons.

Yeah Durham bat deep, Potts was 11 last week and he's batted 8 for England in the past.

Have cricinfo stopped doing their ball-by-ball scorecards?

Yep - at 234-7 we're in a potential winning position. If that slips away then the win disappears and this is why we haven't won many CC games in the last couple of years

And before you know it the 8th wicket puts on over 50.

I watched the Sussex game & some of today but it is already apparent that we are not going to take 20 wickets. God knows where we get our overseas bowlers from but Fernando is no better than what we have, we can get Miles to bowl short, wide & erratically without flying someone in to do it!!

Booth is not up to it and Bamber looks like a smaller, slower version of Brookes, expensive as well.

Sorry to come across negative folks but I think we will be fighting with Sussex & Worcs to survive relegation this season from what I have seen so far.
