Nail on the head.

We are an average side, our recruitment has not been great when it comes to red ball cricket for a few years.

We’ve been a bit unfortunate with overseas players picking up injuries but that’s the same across the country.

Lots of younger inexperienced players in and around the squad though. Hopefully we can get the coaching side of things set up correctly to help them flourish.

Barnard & Smith going well, 176 needed off a minimum of 50 overs.

Superb partnership from Barnard & Smith, 145 needed now off 43 overs.

Tea, we need 113 off 38 overs. If these two stay in for another 20-odd overs we should be in a winning position!

The wrong sort of Rain(e) could ruin our day. As has been said - Smith looks a good future

Oh no, Kai Smith tries a pull to leg but misses the ball and is out LBW. 102 needed from 35 overs now.

Barnard showing great consistency. Would move him up to 5 and take the pressure off Mousley a touch for next game

Just when you begin to think of the possibility of a win, a wicket falls. I hate it if we lose close games, would much rather get well beaten rather than 30-50 runs which I regard as close, it makes all the hard work seem pointless.

Perhaps if our top order batsmen scored runs, and lived up to their reputations as 'the best opening partnership in the country' we wouldn't be dependent on the tail to get the runs needed.

Well done to Ed Barnard, Kai Smith and Michael Booth for getting us close to the total.

What a load of rubbish Doggett bowled to get Barnard's wicket. It's a cruel game.
I think Barnard and Smith should move higher up the order.

Yes. 4 day cricket is a boring format !! Heading for a great end with all 4 resuts possible.

Agree with LeicesterExile, Doggett and Hogg have bowled some dross and look like a couple of club bowlers but glad Doggett didn't jump all over the place as though he bowled a snorter after the wicket.

What a win - and what a hero Fernando holding out at the end. When Barnard went it looked almost all over but....................
