Well this has been pathetic

Season can't end soon enough. Definitely need an upheaval in the management with few changes to the playing squad.

Completely agree with you AJ, Robinson has to go to start with - if Larsen has got the balls to sack the man who was on the panel appointing him (!), if not the Management Committee have to act. Once we get a new Head Coach (Trotty - if he can leave Afghanistan ?!), he needs to look at all support Coaches, with Frost first. Then the playing squad (a major overhaul, depending on contracts), then the Captain, then the recruitment policy (Overseas and home based) ....... ! A long and difficult process, but it has to start now.

100% we need top quality coaching
.I'm sure Frost is a nice bloke but our batting has been very average for years now

Completely agree. The evidence is there for all to see, players are not motivated or committed to, or by, the current leadership and coaching personnel. It’s not gossip, it’s not speculation it’s hard evidence of weekly performances and a seasons capitulation.

Absolutely pathetic, for four and a bit sessions, over two embarrassing, abysmal days.

No excuses, time for serious reflection.

If we don’t do something drastic we will really struggle next season especially with Rhodes leaving.

We may even struggle this season depending on Notts and Lancs results.

About time we produced our own players rather than signing more journeymen.

And change the T20 name and get a bit of pride back in the County!

Agree with all of the above- abysmal and depressing. I hope this proves to be the catalyst for much change, starting of course with our so called leadership team.

We deserve to be relegated but Lancs look as if they’re even worse so look likely to go down with Kent.

Over in 4 sessions. A new low.

This result has to be the catalyst for change now. Starting with Robinson - he needs to be the first to go.

Well said, BR. All that has to happen, but I just can't see it being done. You can bet your bottom dollar, Robinson won't jump and I seriously doubt the strength of character of Larsen, to wield the axe. To me, he just seems a yes man, who has backed Robinson in every decision. Perhaps it might have to come down to the Committee - who is on that now ?

Definitely the worst CC performance, at least in the other games, Surrey we got a few stinkers in the first innings and had no choice in the defeats to Essex (poor 2nd inns) and Somerset when they chased targets on good batting surfaces, but this was awful. No excuses about early morning movement like the first innings and I expected at least to make them bat again. Glad I didn't book time of to watch and on this performance, not many will go to Trent Bridge to see the season out. Roll on Winter, something I thought I would never say.

This, i believe, is the current Members Committee - could it be down to them to pull the rug on Robinson?

If not, then i would guess either the CEO Stuart Cain or Performance Director Gavin Larsen would make the decision.

The body with the power to make changes is https://edgbaston.com/board-of-directors/

However reading their biographies, there seems to be a lack of cricket knowledge and experience, and the chairman is linked to CVC who mismanaged the comercial side of F1 before selling it, and are currently responsible for the financial disaster of the rugby premiership, so to be honest, I'd not hold out much hope of them making the right decisions.

There are comments on "X" (Formerly Twitter) that Robinson rudely refused to talk to members who wanted to ask questions in the bar after the game.
Not sure that is the best way to deal with supporters after such a pathetic performance.

I know that at the end of the season, the Club has an appraisal interview with every member of staff; but I think the current situation demands something more than this. It's a job for the Chief Executive to undertake or commission a major review - maybe he needs to get a respected figure from outside the Club to talk to (and listen to) players and officials and come up with some recommendations; but it needs to be done quickly as soon as the season ends.

I would love to see us dig deep and give a good performance v Notts and put some pride into the last game of the season. In terms of what we have done, I would say we have done more than a lot of counties as yet again we have finished top of the T20 group but unfortunately not gone on further to finals day and in the One-Day Cup we have qualified again but more sympathy here as that dreadful competition that I do not want to mention, kept wiping out our squad with as many as 10 (Lions teams also) missing at any one time. But I love CC cricket more and at one time, we had more bonus points than anyone in total and cannot seem to push on to get into winning positions. I have been a member since 1990 and the one thing that annoys me is the lack of facing-up to bad performances which never really happened when I first became a member. We know the problems that not getting a good overseas pro, is causing and the frustration of not going on to finals in white-ball cricket (I hate that term but will use it here) but the sooner we get honesty from the right sources, the sooner we might all feel about getting behind our side. I retire soon (No, I am not old, just lucky in some ways to do so at 59) and so will be able to watch more than the 20-22 days I get to watch per season and maybe I will get to have a clearer view of things but we all agree we have problems, I just want to see us address them, do something about them and move onto better things.

He had a go at the team after Worcester and then THIS happened. He's gotta be careful. Very scratch team available now with lots of weaknesses showing through. Need them to stand up tall at Trent Bridge. 11 points for safety so no need to worry about bonus points just need to be game savvy

Well at least he didn't throw the players under the bus.
We have competent batsmen who have failed to perform in this game. Management issue.
We have no bowling other than OHD. Management issue.
Didn't see him acknowledge either of those problems.

Some of the usual excuses about the pitch and conditions but, alas, no positives for once. He just seemed accepting that we were rolled over by better bowlers.
Robinson has nothing more to offer I'm afraid. He needs to go, along with Frost and the bowling coach so that we can build a team with winning mentality.

5 bonus points sees us safe if Lancs win v Somerset AND get 24 points v Worcestershire.

We were on the wrong end of a big toss - so there you go - rest of the interview was all about making it sound as though it's no big deal.
