Razor injured? Or released? Shame either way, thought he was pretty decent and he had a bit of pace.

Presumably he had a return flight booked and wasn't able to extend his stay in the uk.

Interestingly both Booth & Lintott played in the second team game today.

Presably only one spinner and says no Mousley so that must mean:

Yates
Davies
Rhodes
Hain
Hamza
Barnard
Burgess
Briggs
Miles
Rushworth

This game has a real end of season feel about it. Drafting in a reserve bowler from Leicester shows how poorly stocked we are for bowlers.
Robinson talking about taking momentum into the winter is nonsensical. I won't miss his uninspiring leadership.

Lost the toss with a ridiculous 1030 start!

Can anyone verify what Robinson said about the loan system only allowing us to bring in a player who has played less than two matches and from another division?

I am confused because Durham have been allowed to bring Emilio Gay in on loan and he has played more than twice for Northants. Or do different rules apply if a club has agreed to sign the player permanently?

Not meaning to disrespect Roman Walker but if that is the best we can do, it is really poor recruitment from a club of our stature.

You sure they will get that many? :-)

Porter/Cook plus an early start this was probably predictable. Is it Dukes or Kook ball this round? Rhodes and Hamza stopped the rot at Worcester so let's see if they can do the same here and show some of that resilience ai mentioned.

Essex have a terrific bowling unit who are able to exploit these sorts of conditions. I’d have Porter and Cook in a heartbeat!

Tough conditions to bat on and high quality bowling….its hard to be too critical.

Hain looks so out of sorts.
I do hope this isn’t a sign of bigger problems from the start of the season.

Though I do wonder, if the environment and the fact that apparently almost the entire squad hates Robinson, and he’s sucked the joy out of the sport for some of them, is having a very visible effect.

Sam has certainly had a tough season, which makes the number of batting points so surprising! I don’t know what Franchise stuff he will be doing over the winter but I hope he comes back to us happy and healthy!

I don’t like to comment on unsubstantiated reports of dressing room disharmony but there does seem to be something up at the moment.

I'd suggest that Sam takes a total break from cricket for a few months, so his body and mind can be fully rested and repaired for next season.

Perhaps he has reached the stage where he needs a new challenge elsewhere. Going into the same toxic work enviroment everyday would get anyone down.

No one is bigger than the club but I'd pick Hain over the management any day.

I hope he comes back stronger next season. I wonder if he regrets not choosing Australia?

He must be frustrated seeing Mousley and Bethall picked over him for England

I dont know how this can be allowed to continue but it probably will.

We are in complete decline, with our best batman completely out of sorts and looking totally unhappy. The only batsman making runs is off to Durham soon, having relinquished the captaincy.

Our attack looks as stale as as a Greggs loaf at closing time........Miles? Seriously?

I'd honestly give speculating about relationships in the squad a miss. We'll never know the true situation. We don't know whether it is disharmonious, toxic or anything else. In any other working environment it would be and should be here, confidential. All we do here by speculating on it is gossip.

A fairly disastrous morning session! It would be quite an achievement to battle back from here.
