Why does it always rain, or be forecast to rain, when we're getting on top!

Yes, who would have thought that it could rain at Old Trafford?

Somerset bowled out for 284. OH-D finished with 6 wickets! The guy is so reliable, an inspiration to all. So the Bears have a healthy 128 run lead. Dare we dream of a first win in this competition this season?

Given the weather forecast should we swing the bat and get a lead of around 250mby tea and then declare or should we play safe and ensure we can't loose first?

The forecast seems to have improved for tomorrow.

So I would say we should be looking for around 260-270 in this innings

Let's hope it's not a disastrous second innings as per Essex!

Think it needs a full day plus maybe 15 overs to bowl them out again so what's that? 65 odd overs? Could get 225 or so in that time... rain seems OK from BBC forecast. Seems Notts are, shall we say, up against it against a point-to-prove Anderson at Old Trafford.

Hain and Rhodes will need to accelerate a bit after blocking the shit out of it for half hour like this...

Bizarre tactics

Edit to clarify - 15 runs in 10 overs after Yates was out

Davies and Yates set a lovely platform for them. When you bat as deep as we do this game (Woakes 9, Booth 10) you can afford to have a dip, particularly walking out there with 100 on the board on top of a 120 lead.

Yes, hopefully they’ll come out with more intent after tea.

The forecast doesn’t look like a complete washout tomorrow so I think we need to make the game safe before thinking about a declaration. 40 overs left today so would scoring 100 in 30 of those give us enough?

Not at all sure what Hain is is playing at. At least Rhodes has shown some intent, Sam has shown none at all.

The draw was always odds on favourite the moment Somerset passed the follow-on target. But can’t understand the tactics here.

God knows what the discussion was at tea.

RR is 2.77 and the innings is going nowhere.

It has been running at around 3.7 for the other sessions but despite a very good partnership between Yates & Davies two silly shots have put the skids under this. Both were going perfectly fine until trying to up the tempo without needing to.

What are we doing, playing for a draw? After 48 overs i was hoping we would have made around 200, we're around 70 runs short of where we would like to be. Hain 3 off 40 balls, what's that all about? Very strange tactics.

Picked a bit now. Surely we wanna be bowling tonight?

Yes, agree. We need to push on now to get a lead of around 350. This is the best opportunity for a while to get a win. It would be useful to put Somerset in to face 5 or 6 overs tonight.
