I don't think that the move away from "Birmingham" has ever been stated - it just seems to have happened quietly over the last 12 months, not only on the website but also in press releases.
I seem to recall at the last members forum (Strauss high performance review) Stuart Cain mentioned that it was quietly and intentionally being dropped now that Birmingham Phoenix are on the scene.
As well as watching Warwickshire I try to get to Barnt Green as much as possible. Andy Sutton was exceptional for them last year and I think this could be an excellent appointment. Already well known to a number of our younger players and I can't see anything but a positive impact on our pathway system.
Not happy with Davies as vice-captain- I think the writing is very much on the cards for Michael Burgess, which I think would be a great shame.
Lets hope he is full recovered from his broken leg!
Sam's not playing in the latest Lions one day game- anyone know why?
Thank you EB
Good to see Jacob doing well again after his ton in the U19 series against Australia. I'm really hoping this coming season will be a big breakthrough one for him
Thank you EB.
Just a thought but is it easy enough to build a like button for posts? I ofter find myself wanting to agree with people but have no further comments to add.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Took his wicket with his first ball I believe
I also find the Irani link a strange one. On top of the unrest at the end of his Essex reign our own dressing room was hardly the most harmonious of places last season. Would such an appointment add fuel to any lingering fire, or do we feel the departures (most of which I wasn't happy to see) will have settled matters down?
Definitely good to hear this.
I also think there is way too many needless one day international series. Appreciate there is still and element of catching up on obligations post COVID but after the farce of the one day series in Australia following the World Cup we now have short trips to South Africa and Bangladesh imminent!
A number of awards for Gary and his team this year- very well deserved.
Fingers crossed he will last to the end of July, then hopefully we can get a decent replacement for the September fixtures. If they all stay fit we seem to have a surplus of seam bowlers- Olly H-D, Liam Norwell, Hassan Ali, Chris Rushworth, Craig Miles, Ed Barnard, Henry Brookes- any others?
Would be an excellent signing, fingers crossed.
That actually seems a far better way of making sure everyone was able to make their feelings known. Looking at scores and with a mind to our own forums I would imagine we would have scored very similar.
Re an earlier post- I think a summary of our meeting will be made available on Monday.
Agree with Malc above regarding limiting the number of questions to individuals- some people were hogging the mike.
Unlike the first forum there was no suggestion of a 12 game CC as a compromise- it seems 14 games is the consensus across the vast majority of counties. As was the case in the room save for one person.
One comment from Mark Robinson that I found very interesting was the likes of Will, Sibbers, Matt Lamb and Mike Burgess were incensed (I think that was the word he used) at not being considered for the Blast as they saw this as their only way into the 100, by performing well in it. It could also explain some of the continued unrest at the end of the season. I was extremely disappointed that Robinson did not seem to know that Lamby is Matt Lamb not John Lamb as he referred to him!
Excellent from Worcester
I'm aware that this open letter was copied into Stuart Cain- who responded saying "it was a great read"
