Well that should shut us all up - our bang average side are top of the table. Yes, the batting needs more consistency. Yes, the bowling isn't incisive. But we won one. Well done.

Issues are still there and will show throughout the season however, it's great to see the fight in the players

We didn't take 20 wickets but we still won. Well done YouTube cricket for allowing us this privilege.

YouTube cricket has been a game changer

Well done to the lower middle order and tailenders !

Barnard showing great consistency. Would move him up to 5 and take the pressure off Mousley a touch for next game

Smith looks some player

Going gets tough.. we collapse.

This is a very average side with glaring gaps in quality.

Big innings from Hain required

What was Yates doing leaving that !?

Poor side on paper turning into reality.

The Bears main problem is a raft of injuries and unavailability in the bowling attack. Rushworth barely played last season., but is injured yet again The absence of OHD is also a major blow. Not being able to call on Woakes is frustrating at this almost crisis time is a similar scenario to 12 months ago. I understand that Hasan Ali won't be joining the squad until the the end of May?
.

We can't call it a crisis anymore, happens every season and is the norm now. I'd probably go for the same bowling line up and hope Fernando can have more of an impact

The beauty of three day cricket was it made captains get on with the game rather than mindlessly churning out runs as has happened in this match

Neither captain here has the wit, inclination or players to progress the game

It’s awful cricket on an awful pitch!

Bit harsh on the captains, it's a long season. I'm sure they are happy with a draw and to get some time in the middle for their batsman.

Agree though, we do need better pitches throughout the season although I really don't like 130 v 130 games which are over in 2 days. This pitch just needed to spin in the last 4 sessions

Bowling looking toothless again unfortunately

It’s a hard watch. Four day cricket at its worst!

Have to see how we bat but it does look very flat

I've really not a fan of 130 v 130 but you need to offer something to the bowlers

When it comes to Hasan Ali, when will he play?

We will already have Latham and Webster, am I missing something?

Yes at some point all 3 will be available at the at the same time.

Won't it be for the majority of time Ali and Webster are here ?

Well that was underwhelming! Bamber apart our bowling attack was pretty poor today, especially Fernando & Booth. When they came back on in those last few overs they both looked as if they would rather be anywhere else than bowling for us. It looked like they were bowling in the last game of the season rather than the first. Even if you're not bowling well, at least show a bit of determination & desire, look as if you want to do your best for your team. Barnard didn't bowl particularly well today but at least he shows some effort and desire, as he always does.

Westwood clearly has a lot to sort out on the bowling front, lets hope our batting is up to scratch tomorrow.

Yeah the lack of quality on paper showed in reality today. Really missed OHD today. We have to hope the Batsman put in a shift when it's their turn

We've lost Rhodes, Burgess, Benjamin, Norwell, Bethall (to a certain point) off the wages

I see short term investment in overseas players but we're putting a lot of faith in the youngsters

Is this the 6th or 7th season of transition?!

Bat first pitch for sure

Squads up, 14 man. Looks like a shootout between Booth and Simmons. Taz Ali and Lintott are in the squad though...Smith obviously keeping, all the batters who we expected to be there are there. Simmons has impressed pre season apparently.

Miles must be miles off it to not even get in the squad here.

Yep, the 14 are:-
Davies
Taz Ali
Bamber
Barnard
Booth
Briggs
Fernando
Hain
Lintott
Mousley
Shaikh
Simmons
Smith
Yates

I reckon the 3 to miss out are most likely to be Ali, Lintott & Simmons, but I'd give Jake L a go, instead of Briggs (he's failed once too often in the CC).

Yes would definitely go for Lintott. Deserves a chance and offers something different. We also have Yates who can do a job

Trying to be optimistic but I worry with that squad..here's hoping !

Have a feeling its going to be a good year for Hain
