Hello,

I'm coordinating the national campaign to oppose the proposed reduction in first class matches from 14 to 10 games.

I believe we stand on the edge of a precipice. I do not think it will stop at a reduction of a few county games. It will eventually end with the ECB taking control (through the franchise teams) of all professional domestic cricket. The opportunity for those in charge then to make life changing sums of money is clear if these franchises are sold to billionaires.

For now, members have control of what our club votes for, if we are willing to act.

So far 3300 people have replied, including just 67 Warwickshire members. WCCC is a really important club in this. Can you help to publicise the campaign please?

You can complete the survey below.

Please tell all your friends when you are at a match in the next few weeks.

Volunteer to pass round some leaflets to collect signatures at the Royal London games. I collected 100 in 30 minutes just chatting to people at the Oval. I can give you a leaflet all ready to be printed off. It was dead easy, 99% of people signed it straightaway and were delighted to do so.

Lancashire members are putting their CEO under pressure to oppose the reduction. We have over 500 signatures and growing still. There will be an almighty row if the club ignores its members. Surrey are also very active with over 300 members signed up. If we can get WCCC as well then we can stop this thing dead in its tracks just like the fans stopped the ESL.

Many thanks to the admin team for supporting this campaign.
