If Chemar Holder could bowl we could have a chance here with Briggs twirling away at the other end
Going at 5 an over is not what is needed from him...

Good ball or not, Pollock quite often is counter productive.
Now completely on the back foot with Yates now gone half fencing at a ball that he should have just been pushing back up the pitch.[/quote]
Pollock will have the odd knock where he looks brilliant, but another 10 innings where he gets nothing. I am unimpressed with him.
Game has well and truly gotten away from us here. Not good enough with bat or ball today sadly
That over about sums Pollock up, hits two sixes in it then gets caught on the boundary going for another one.
Sprint not marathon with him at times
32 off the final over from Brookes, I imagine that could prove extremely costly.
Going at over 10 an over in a 50 over game does not make great reading for the lad.
Sadly Rhodes has reverted to type after a good match last time out.
4/1 with a healthy lead behind us
We are going to need it to be rained off.
It's quite the statement if that is what they were going for!
Agreed it was a bizarre choice. Rhodes really struggling to justify his place as a batsman currently, he has been better with the ball so far this season.
Was following it throughout the four days and, whilst we always ensured we were in the game, I was skeptical about us chasing down that total but full credit to the lads for a superb run chase and a superb performance over the four days. Yates, Vihari and Hain were brilliant in the way they controlled the chase and a special mention to Sam who ensured that the pressure was not on Yates in relation to the run rate as he upped it where necessary, showcasing why he is statistically the best 50 over player in history (which I still find mad).
It is still early days, but the new coaching setup seems to be paying dividends. On the previous forum I had made my views on the Troughton appointment quite clear and that I was totally against it and I saw nothing during his time leading the side to dissuade me from that opinion. It seems now that we are moving in the right direction at last.
Afternoon all. With the cricket season having started back up again, a quick Google search sent me in this direction. It is good to see the place back up and running in a different guise and some of the old members floating around.
I am CaptainSexyPenis from the old forum.
