Gerry you have just ruined my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Until it is mathamatically impossible to go down a side is not safe.
It would be negligent and irresponsible to not taking actions to ensure the club is not relegated, rather than just hoping other sides failing to obtain the points they need to survive.
So on that basis why is your team choice not including an opener who has notched up 1000 runs and include a batsman batting at 6 or 7 who has had a very unsuccessful season?
Little chance of play tomorrow having looked at the forecast.
It just shows the lack of thought for spectators that goes into planning fixtures. I can see no reson why the games could not have been held yesterday with today as a reserve day. Now it looks as if they will do their best to get 30 overs in to avoid a refund or at least 15 overs so they can keep half the money.
No mention of returning the T20 team to its proper name - Warwickshire Bears? Looks like they still want to support proceding with the 16.4 team.

Having seen Dan Mousley's hair, I wouldn't trust his hairdresser.
I agree with what Reabank says. Robinson is a highly regarded coach with an excellent track record. But, looked at overall, he hasn't really delivered the success that the Club needs and deserves. However, I also agree that there needs to be a full exploration of what has gone wrong and it may not all fall at Robinson's door.
Given Robinson's record could it be his drive and enthusiasm has deminished? Just saying as I have seened that in the past both in business and sport.
Gerry, why do you say this club "deserves" success?

Please comment on what he said
We were on the wrong end of a big toss - so there you go - rest of the interview was all about making it sound as though it's no big deal.
Nah This 10th wicket pair will bat through to lunch tomorrow!!
Fellow Exile No I didn't take it you were getting at me - just voicing your opinion thinking I was making excuses for a very poor performance. Frustration plays tricks with the mind and for me watching from a distance has had me screaming at the walls.
The overseas player issue has frustrated me for years. Why is there this obsession with must have an overseas player with very few exceptions they do not put bums on seats. So I have always maintained the player must be better than the Warwickshire player who he will replace which in turn attracts bigger support for a winning side. Donald, Pollock, Lara and Jeetan Patel readily come to mind.
Fellow "Exile" I was not making an excuse for this morning's performance. Obviously they should be able to play the conditions better than that. My comment was really a general thing as the early start does have an effect in most games - hence the reason the season used to finish early September and cricket is normally played from 11am.
Given the criticism for early starts often resulting in win the toss, win the match. Do you not think playing in September really calls for a later start rather than a n earlier start. This could be resolved by spreading the game over 5 days with a Noon start and having an early finish on 5th day. Just a thought.
Rhodes will be sorely missed. Looks like we are safe in Div 1 for another season. Time to give 2 or 3 young 'uns a run.
I'm over the border due west in Wales and it's been raining in short bursts all day.
My goodness we do moan on this forum. Is Warwickshire the only team entitled to win? Comments that Davies does not deserve to be in the side and yet he is one of the most successful batsmen in the CC this season. As for being captain well we did not do too badly in the whiteball games. - a lot of teams did worse. With Hain missing most of the season and plenty of injuries to bowlers there are excuses. Perhaps criticism should be levelled at management - coaches etc. Just my take on the picture.
Let's hope he doesn't replace Robinson. The club needs an experienced proven replacement and Trott would fit that perfectly.
My expectation of a win fell when I saw the team selection. Why change a winning format? Why drop batsman that have performed?
Once again the team has been changed to accommodate Moeen and once again we have lost with him in the side. He has achieved very little and certainly no better than players he replaced.
Reading through this forum thread made sad reading - because there is not one word unjustified.
As for the name of the team I find the name not only stupid I find it embarrassing - what is a city doing playing against a group of counties - it does not make sense. Last night I was at a local rugby match in Coventry. In the bar they had the match on allowing me to follow on screen about 10 overs in to the Bears inning. While the bar was quite full I was the only person following the game. I am sure that is because Coventry people will not be interested in a team called Birmingham - and why would they!

I think they will play Benjamin, however, if he actually gets a bat at 7 you can assume that we have lost.
Pessimist !! He will come in at the end of the 19th over with the score at 220 with Hain on strike !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they will go with the extra batter at 7, and i think they will stick with Benjamin. He played in all 14 of the group stage matches, and seems to be favoured over others in this format. Predicted team:
Davies
Moeen
Mousley
Hain
Bethell
Barnard
Benjamin
Garton
Briggs
Lintott
GleesonCome on you Bears!
Yeah and he's averaged 9!!! Give his place to someone more deserving.
That is a little unfair given that anyone coming in very late in the innings (or at least should) has to attack immediately.
A win before lunch on the third day - not many people saw that coming!! As said the others competing to avoid relegation do not look as though a win is a possibility so all in all an excellent round of matches.
Well they don't like being given out! LBW was plumb on the leg stump and Finch certainly felt it didn't hit his bat.
My comment was really with a bit of my tongue in cheek - he has put some good performances in this season and it will be a shame to see him go.
