It was a good win which showed excellent team spirit and character.

But it doesn’t change any if the issues we face this season.

The greatest contribution to the game was Lees’ declaration. Apparently Durham don’t do draws. Fair play to him and he showed the wit which neither captain showed in the Sussex game.

Good to see Rugby School tickets advertised today and the Club acknowledging we are playing around our county!

I think those resorting to abuse of other posters on here should perhaps think whether a forum is for them. By all means express your own opinion but respect those of others or otherwise what’s the point?

Yes, agreed about the commentary. They obviously loved their cricket and were very even-handed in their comments.

I said it a couple of days ago but I think they really showed up their pretentious colleagues at other counties - including us - so refreshing to hear genuine enthusiasm and knowledge.

I’m very much enjoying the commentary. Two young enthusiastic lads. Much better than the pretentious stuff from some of the other county commentators!

I’m very much enjoying watching Smith bat. Very easy on the eye. Proper cricketer!

The beauty of three day cricket was it made captains get on with the game rather than mindlessly churning out runs as has happened in this match

Neither captain here has the wit, inclination or players to progress the game

It’s awful cricket on an awful pitch!

Combination of a poor pitch, poor captaincy by both sides and two poor sides have made this a game not to watch.

Making the case for bringing back three day cricket if it’s this robotic.

I hope we will get better games to watch at home this season!

It’s a hard watch. Four day cricket at its worst!

Yes it is I’m not looking at the clock - too much work!

Won the toss and fielding.

1030 starts really are ridiculous!

And it’s obviously too early in the year to be playing cricket!

Tempted to WFP

Work From Pavilion

i read yesterday that Woakes is available late April but Bethell involved with IPL.

I don't think the club have said anything about relaying wickets, which mean part of the square would be out of use for the season.

It takes about a year for the ground to settle and be prepared to use as a wicket, even at club level.

I doubt I’ll be able to find it but pretty certain they acknowledged the square was tired and substandard the last two seasons and were going to address this pre season.

I like Gary a lot but his reputation isn’t going to be great if this happens again this season!

Did the square get renewed pre season? Hope it’s not going to be slow and dead again.

Yes not my favourite journalist, I remember how she forced out her predecessor at the Times who was a lovely man!

Always enjoy my trips to Edgbaston but I’m not too optimistic this year. Seems to be no sense of direction. Such a shame when Farbrace was here there seemed to be a clear future!

I was looking at a picture of the ground today. I bet there’s some in those new flats which were built and has a view of the ground who must be gutted a hotel will now block their view.

Looks like they were worried about being sued.

Has now left us in the lurch!

Hard to see the appointments as reassuring.

Frost role combination of operations, data and overseeing pitches.

An underwhelming email to members.

Goodness knows why we need to incorporate Birmingham Phoenix. Most of the appointments look like sticking plasters. Not sure it’s appropriate to use nicknames for people you’ve sacked. The only good thing was the picture of the Warwickshire flag!

They specifically stipulate that any candidate has to agree with clubs goals and strategy. This is then brought up at interview. If anybody seriously wants to affect change in outlook or operations it’s pointless. There may be some hollow wins on consumer issues but it’s a sop that was offered for ripping up direct accountability.

Tried this a couple of years ago.

They weren’t interested in anybody who might rock the boat. It’s a box ticking exercise unfortunately!

The big mistake was when we allowed them to create the Board to replace a Committee directly accountable to the members!
