I can't look past that over this morning when Hain and Burgess were sawn off, too crucial.

That LBW shout on Amla then, how is Taylor not giving that after giving Burgess LBW earlier?!

Yeah Burgess moves down the pitch to negate the swing and in Hain's defence when your on 96 and you get a delivery going down leg you try and hit that. It isn't like either batter has tried to reach for one way outside off stump and slapped one straight to extra cover.

Ive no real issue with our approach this morning, it's not like they were going totally gung ho, just putting the bad delivery and loosener away.

Then Billy Taylor got involved.

The Hain and Burgess decisions were huge, umpiring is tough work but those decisions from were scarcely believable.

Appeal for anything at Billy Taylor's end, he's had a shocker all game.

It's probably because we notice it more and see more with live streams everywhere etc but the standard of umpiring in has been a disgrace this season.

Sods law we're batting for once and we come off for bad light!

Decent game this

Benjamin looked pretty ropey but that wicket, and the timing of it, is a blow.

Not really. Maybe one day. You wouldn't have to look to far to find out what.

Sibley gone, Stone gone. Anyone have any updates on anyone else?

Looks bad on Brookes, Johal, Garrett and Miles when they're all fit and available but we've had to get someone in on loan.

Pope has just thrown away a certain ton, an absolute gift for Wheal.

It's generally a very welcoming ground. Impressed by the amount of young people and families here today too.

Was there to be hit I thought but yes that was a shocker from the umpire.

Interesting, thanks for that.

Do you not think Warwickshire with its large Midlands catchment area should have more academy players in its squad and playing XI's? For a long time now we seem to have been a county that relies on looking outside and signing from other counties as opposed to promoting from within.

We consistently seem have the least amount of homegrown talent of all the counties.

Surrey look like they have another good one in Tom Lawes. 19 years old, brisk seamer who gets it in the right areas, think he bats a bit too.

Surrey get a lot criticism for poaching from other counties, we do it too. But the difference is Surrey have a good track record with bringing their own players though with Pope, Burns, Ryan Patel, the Curran's, Jamie Smith etc.

Why can't we bring them through like that?

Irrespective of whether batting 3 or 6 or 10 that is absolutely dreadful from Benjamin.

23 ain't bad for him

Only 1 academy product in the XI. Its pretty poor really.
