No Hain, Yates in. Not the replacement I'd have expected, interesting.

Same team?

Derbyshire will be kicking themselves. Wow.

Hose and Benjamin rescuing this.

Same side?

Great chance you'd think. We were good last year in my opinion, just ran into an extremely strong Kent side in the quarters.

Farbrace has made it abundantly clear this is the comp he wants won this year. Anything less than Finals Day should be considered a failure.

Entirely fair that Hose starts. I would have invested in Mousley though and had a more even balance between right and left handers.

Stirling
Davies
Bethell
Hain
Benjamin
Mousley
Brathwaite
Briggs
Brookes
Lintott
Miles

You tell could from the reaction of the Yorkshire fielders they couldn't believe that sequence of deliveries from Thompson to Davies and then to get him out they were absolutely cock a hoop. The fielding side will always feel as though they are in the game with him at the crease.

We've struggled up front with the new ball virtually every game and it sets the tone.

He's bowled well, great stuff.

He has lost a yard no doubt, but he's still quicker than 80mph in my opinion.

I'm not sure that speed guns right

Think Lamb might be in his last year to but I'd imagine he's in line for a decent renewal/extension due to his current form and demonstrable improvement.

Hose needs to go well in the Blast I'd say. I'm not sure he's guaranteed a place in that side at the moment with the emergence of Bethell though.

Garnett may get retained simply because we don't have any seamers coming through from the academy and the seniors are often injured!

Sidebottom and Furrer might be struggling.

Often the way up there. As I'm sure you well know. When the clouds are in it goes round corners, the moment them clouds lift though...

Sounds like we need to strike early tomorrow.

Anyway we'd better still be in this game when I come up Saturday!

It's a strange one, we've got 4 guys (Sibley, Hain, Lamb, Burgess) averaging over 45. Well in excess of 45 in some cases. But the guys out of form seem are seriously out of form, like barely contributing. Whereas last season we had 8 or 9 guys all averaging 32-36.

And we've got it majorly wrong at the toss again.

Headingley, when the clouds are in, is a massive bowl first ground. We saw that when we went up there last season. Happens at international level too, India got shoved in last year and got rolled for like 70 or something.

We've done it to ourselves!

Agreed its messed Yates up dropping him down to shoehorn Davies in. 900 runs and 5 tons opening, he should of stayed as opener.

Lamb getting tough runs again, feels a surprise whenever he gets out.

Absolutely, can't blame the lad, great opportunity for him.

I mean Jacob Bethell has had a relationship with Warwickshire since he was about 14, he originally came to the UK for educational purposes. He's come through the Warwickshire academy and played age group cricket with us.

Simmons though, we've nicked a player here.

Encouraging from a Bears perspective. Terrible to see this talent drain in West Indies cricket keep happening though.
