I can never keep track of these now. Hain was supposedly fit enough to be in the squad now he’s out for approximately 4 weeks.
Norwell was supposedly targeting July, and now he’s many weeks away, and from the sounds of it, it’ll be September for county championship.
I understand Mikes and Brookes. These things happen.
But from a physical point of view I can’t quite understand how Bethell can bat, but not bowl spin.
He gives the ball a mighty whack, twists his back etc when batting. Surely no less stressful on the back than spin bowling?

Injury update from Robinson:
“Danny Briggs is out for a while and could be four to six weeks. We don’t know if Sam Hain will be fit for the weekend, but he should be ready for the quarter-final and Kent.
“We’re having to manage Jacob Bethell’s workload and get him to a quieter spot in the field with the stress fracture he’s got in the back, which limits his practice and restricts him from bowling. Craig Miles is six to eight weeks away and we’re hoping Liam Norwell will be fit for the final run-in of four championship games."
So not much positive news there, then, especially with Hasan being on his way out.
The comments about Jacob Bethell in the field make his catch against Yorkshire seem all the more remarkable.

Hain will be gutted to miss out on Trent Bridge with his record there.
Briggs is a blow but hopefully we can keep Bess for the foreseeable.
Losing Hassan on top of the injuries is a concern. We have to bring in a quality replacement for the T20 if we are serious about doing well in the competition.

Updates on injuries based on interview with Mark Robinson:
Chris Rushworth’s return is yet to be confirmed and he’ll join Craig Miles and Liam Norwell on the sidelines. Both will be looking to feature in the One Day Cup, although Miles is slightly ahead in terms of overs in the bank. The 29-year-old featured for the Second XI this week, but he’s still on the comeback trail after just 14 overs.
“We’ll have a completely different attack on Tuesday,” Robinson added. “We’ve had Hassan, Rushy and a bit of Woakesy but none of those will be playing.
“We haven’t been able to get him [Chris Rushworth] in for a scan, but the sooner we do, we’ll know what the damage is. We’re hoping it’ll be two to three weeks. Olly Hannon-Dalby will carry us like he’s done the last few years alongside Henry [Brookes] and Mir Hamza who got better as the game went on.”
