With the start of the Blast imminent, I have to say that what I wrote back last November is still my opinion - having a day that launches the tournament after it has started is daft; and I pity those Bears finishing at Durham late on Friday evening and then having to play again at Edgbaston the following afternoon.

Probably the same geniuses who scheduled an international T20 on an ultimately, rain ruined Tuesday evening the day after a bank holiday Monday. A day when other than remaining days of CC games there was little or no elite sport being played anywhere in the country.

Yeah it is a bit crazy - with the possible exception of Italian cycling English cricket is the worst organised sport I can think of. I guess the issue is that all the counties want to play late in the week. In my opinion it would be better if the season wasn't played in blocks then we could fit in a couple of T 20s in May and ease the pressure on prime dates.

Thursday night in London isn’t looking too clever either. If England don’t play that game it means they’ve only had one warm-up game before the WC.

Looking at our fast bowling line up

Woakes, Ali, Jamal, Miles, Booth, Gleeson, Garton

With Lintott and Biggs were only going to use 3 of them with Mousley as well.

Are we actually going to play Gleeson and Garton ? We'd have been better with an overseas batter or two.

I'd guess at this team, especially with the continuing mystery of Chris Woakes! Moeen will be available for the second half of the schedule too.

Benjamin
Mousley
Bethell/Barnard
Garton
