I like the fact that Mark Robinson hails it as good news that this is a new injury, not the recurrence of an old one. There can't be many new bits of his body for him to injure.

....and Ged Scott's BBC report says that Sam Hain will miss the Durham match too.
Very interesting that even batsmen like Libby are coming out and criticising the kookaburra ball choice.
I’d understand it a lot more in July or August, you’ve got hard pitches, good weather, likely to turn. That’s when you develop you’re 90mph bowlers. Sure footing, good bounce and carry, potentially some reverse.
Expecting someone who puts in the effort like Mark Wood does, to charge in on those run ups in April and bowl 90mph and not get hurt is ludicrous.
Again just seems like poor planning by the club. I know they expected Hassan Ali and Hain to be available, but that’s less of an issue if you have a second overseas. And if you’ve recruited another front line bowler because let’s be honest Norwell can’t be relied upon anymore, he’s a luxury if you can get him for a few games, and OHD & Rushworth fine operators though they are, don’t have too many more seasons left in their legs.
We were lucky to come out of that with a draw - definitely second best in every department I'm afraid. Our bowling looked largely toothless and Briggs in particular bowled poorly yesterday; I know he would have been rusty buy bowling 7 wides didn't help.
Not for the first time, we seemingly have no plan B when it comes to an OSP, and although I know the IPL and T20 merry go round does restrict options, Worcs seem to have pulled off two excellent signings so why have we been left wanting? I don't think Michael Booth is classified as overseas, or at least Playfair doesn't have him listed as an overseas player.
Don't know what the issue is with Sam Hain but whatever it is, I am sure we all wish him well and hope he can return to the ranks at the very earliest opportunity.
Dobell said in The Cricketer that Booth was registered overseas for this game as he doesn't qualify as a local player until the end of the 2025 season.
