Is anyone else struggling to get into this World Cup?
I don’t know if it’s because there’s been no close matches, the crowds seem small due to the cavernous stadiums, or if because it’s so long that none of the early matches seem important.
Doesn’t quite have the appeal yet.

I don't really follow international cricket anymore. It just isn't played on a level playing field and due to the expansion of franchise cricket you just won't often see the best competing against the best anymore. With regards to the World Cup, when it went to 10 teams that was me done. Just a glorified Champions Trophy now. Its been destroyed. Shame.

It seems to have escaped many but I get the feeling once we get to the crucial stages to see who gets to the semi-finals, it will gain more interest especially if England get to the last 4. Still think India will win it.

The most exciting incidents so far have been DRS showing bias against Steve Smith and the third umpire getting a catch decision wrong.

I have so much more respect for the Indians and BCCI because they’re not even pretending that they care about the matches other teams are in.
No opening ceremony, but a big show before the India vs Pakistan match. Grounds bordering on a quarter full unless India are playing. They’re not hiding anything, they don’t care what everyone else thinks.

It’s almost as if abandoning the first class tournament in favour of the 16.4 has led to a loss of interest amongst the general public.

England also seem to have forgotten how to play it as well.

Just about on a par with the decision to take cricket off free-to-air television in 2005 just when everybody was enthused about the Ashes win.

Anyway, we should offer congratulations to the Afghanistan coach. I wonder who he used to play for.

One thing that does annoy me is when an Asian team is playing, is the use/mis-use of first names and last names in certain teams. There is no consistency in any of it. For instance in the past why was Waqar and Wasim used on scorecards instead of Akram and Younis. Today I have noticed on the Bangladesh card, Tanzid Hasan's full name used, his opening partner being named as just Das, Mehidy Hasan is called Mehidy, Mushfiqur Rahim is just Mushfiqur and so it goes on. I cannot understand why we have this confusion with what are full names, first names, last names and why there is no explanation unless someone on here is wise to this whole subject,

The ECB with some serious questions to answer after the shambolic showing in this World Cup so far.
Bet Strauss is rubbing his hands with glee, eyeing up another pointless and overpaid review.
The county game will somehow be blamed for this, as is always the case.

Who’d have thought that preventing the best players from playing in the one day cup would have such disastrous consequences..?!

There have been some poor England world cup performances in cricket but this one tops the lot!

Good to know that they have all been rewarded with a Central Contract, except for David Willey who was the not out batsman in the England innings and took the only two Sri Lankan wickets to fall.
Imagine what it must feel like to be dead and buried but still have four matches to play.
Maybe they will prove everyone wrong and walk all over India who are the hot favourites.
By the way, good to see Glenn Maxwell doing for Australia what he didn't quite manage for the Bears.

Unsurprisingly Stokes is going to have knee surgery after this World Cup. Apparently should be fit for the India tour.
But with his performances so far, you’ve got to think this was probably a hurdle to far for his body, and considering he can barely run let alone bowl, this seems inevitable and probably makes his decision to play even more questionable.

This Maxwell chap looks quite good, perhaps we should sign him for the Blast next season..?

When names are bandied around his does still often seem to get missed out. The central contracts situation probably hasn’t helped with that.

I hate the way the press have just turned around and got stuck into the England team. We virtually accept these things from our press but instead of getting stuck into the team, how about just coming to the conclusion that some things have to come to an end at some point and this is 'That point'. From 2016 we have been very fortunate to enjoy the way this team has played and were as good as any team have ever been, on their day and held both one-day world cups at the same time which no one else has done.
