That is good to know :-)
Just a shame Sam has had to wait so long for his England chance, while lessor players from favoured counties were given multiple chances.

89 (82) out caught in the final over. I think he's given a very good account of himself after a particularly nervy looking start.
After his first couple of overs, I just couldn't watch anymore and went and hid. Next time I checked he was past 50 and everything was right with the world. Really pleased.
One thing that was abundantly clear from that match is that Eoin Morgan does not like Hain.
No idea why, because his supposed issue of “starting slowly” left him with a higher strike rate than Jacks. And never stopped Morgan picking Livingston or Root, who both have a history of chewing up balls early on. Wonder if it’s more personal than performance.
Playing for the 2’s again today.
I can’t be the only one scratching my head at this.
It’s been 4 weeks now.
His family is in Australia but he’s been in the UK the whole time.
He’s fit enough to play multiple 2’s matches.
I can’t quite work it out.
Starting to wonder if “personal issue” has been used to cover something else up.
Maybe he fancied a crack at captaincy or vice captaincy and the Davies/Barnard decision has made him consider moving on.
I don't think the Barnard part of the equasion would be the issue, Ed Barnard is a great person.
It could be that the issue is actully from Robinson &/or Davies, rather than from Sam?
I agree that it is an ongoing mystery.
The only positive spin I can put on it is that, if there is a personal issue, the club are doing a good job of keeping it private. They did the same for Michael Burgess some time ago.
If that was the case then I don’t know why he would have agreed to play as a sub in the last game.
Much more likely that it’s a family issue for Sam.
It is very strange indeed, but having scored 101 off 158 suggests that physically he is well, and in a pretty decent place mentally.
It looks likely that Sam will be playing for the First team again in the Surrey game (starting on Friday 10th). He's not been selected for the Seconds match at Portland Road today.
