Agreed, he'd have been in long ago.

Sam ended on 165 not out so the updated figures are that since the start of last season, he has scored 1421 first class runs for Warwickshire at an average of just under 75.
Maybe he was able to study Zak Crawley's innings at close hand to see how a real Test batter performs.
I promise I won't do it again; but I watched a bit of the Hundred match tonight and Sam Hain scored a brilliant 63 off 39 balls for some team against some other team.
Fair play to him, but I won't give that comp my viewership.
I'm sure it was a superb knock though.
Interesting article on Sam Hain here, making the case for him playing for England:

Surely Sam will finally make his first start v Ireland, a long time coming and well deserved.
Well deserved and long overdue. Just a pity that he's not been in prime form lately. It often happens that way,
It is effectively an "England A" squad as the world cup squad are all rested.

It's true that it's nothing like a first choice squad; but if he gets to play, it will still make him an England international.
Brian Halford has tweeted that "the Oxford English Dictionary will recall all its existing editions and replace its definition of 'belated'."
Nice article on Sam here, and very good to see he thanked his family.
Yes, a nice article.
He has a (non--identical) twin brother in Australia; and it must have been a real wrench for him to leave his family behind when he was so young.
His twin is now working in London as a solicitor, so a bit closer to Sam.
It would be great if his parents were able to get over for the England games.
I didn't know that about his twin. I did know that his twin was not into playing cricket.
When you have a sibling as talented as Sam, its understandable you'd want to follow other interests.
Maybe he wouldn't have played anyway; but Sam's chance of an England debut was foiled by the weather today.
Sam is in the side today, a great day for Sam and all his family.
Yes, a great day.
Sorry, agreeing with you again.
I know, are you feeling unwell? :-)
Seeing Sam’s innings has revived me.
75* (73) needs to cut loose now...
