Somerset have great online coverage, we should provide the same quality.
Very much agree. Warwickshire's has improved over last two seasons but still some way to go to get to this level.
Yeah I think ours is now one of the better ones now (didn't used to be).
But interestingly Somerset, and I noticed Lancashire previously, both have adverts on theirs before you get on. I have seen any other counties that do this - there could be others.
The cameras, having a devoted commentary team, the VT packages and replays are excellent.
But my one issue is, just like the Surrey group, the absence or the dilution of the BBC commentators means the analysis and comments are very home team centric at best. The BBC commentators still have to try act impartial because of the BBC standards, not so for these types of commentators.
Know what you mean but I don't mind that so much as it adds an extra layer of information you'd not get from bland BBC reporting and they are former players in the main or county cricket enthusiasts which is great. Listened to a podcast earlier today by Jarrod Kimber which suggested the ECB is naive to allow BBC a monopoly of test and ODI cricket in particular for radio comms and should do what they do in Australia and permit multiple broadcasters to commentate on each game over the audio frequencies. It'd help break down some of the barriers that still exist in terms of people accessing cricket if they didn't have to navigate the stuffy white ageing demographic the BBC caters for. There's nothing wrong with that demographic by the way but for cricket to be truly inclusive it could do with 2 or 3 alternative broadcasting options.
Anyone know if Barnard ever opened the batting for Worcestershire? Am I right in thinking that it’s the first time he’s done it for us? Seems to be working so far!
Shocking from Brookes
I didn't see it, what sort of dismissal was it?
Barnard definitely hasn't opened for us, and I never recall seeing him doing it for Worcestershire.
Not a clue what Brookes was doing there, second ball when we need 4 an over?!
Also re Norwell - think I saw him carrying the drinks
Good win. We were pretty solid throughout. It threatened to get close a couple of times but the young lads kept their nerve well.
Good toss to win, definitely a fair bit of seam movement throughout the first 15 overs.
Excellent all round performance from Barnard, List A best with the bat, good opening spell with the ball and a truly exceptional run out. If a run out like that happened in the Blundred we'd be seeing it on repeat on all platforms for the next month. Hopefully he's shut some of the doubters up for a bit.
How good was Hamza Shaikh six?! Nailed.
Love this format, it should be protected at all costs.
Good, and important, win that. Some hopefully slightly easier games coming in what is the weaker pool. Greatly encouraging to see the young lads do well, particularly Hamza. If he'd got out early we would have been run through, when he was out the game was virtually won although Kai and Lintott played well to assure it.
Nice to see Hamza keep his composure after an uncertain start when he struggled to get a few away and hit the fielders a few times.
OK that's good to know. I just looked at the scorecard and read a report. If Hamza is keeping his composure well it's promising for 17 years old and better than the game I saw him in last year, when he got frustrated, bogged down and got himself out.

Agreed it is a great format. Think it will find a new popularity after the world cup..less is more at an international level however, I hope it gains more importance at a domestic level
As others have pointed out, it’s bizarre that the England players are preparing for the World Cup by not playing that particular format in the build-up…

He did lose his composure today as well tbh early doors, when he was about 9 off 30. Barnard kept chatting to him. Then he hit a big six and that seemed to release him and he played well from there. He's clearly got talent, just needs to be nurtured I'm the right way
