Well we can't win em all and Derbyshire had one of their better days.

Better for us to lose now to a) get a bad game out the way and b) learn where our weaknesses are so we have time to rectify (although I do fear somewhat based on recent history we won't).

One thing I will say is how many times did we try the reverse sweep/lap today? Not one worked

With a game tomorrow it’s hard to have the time to learn the weaknesses, it will be a case of just going again.

I’m going tomorrow so I hope it’s a more competitive match….Notts also lost today so both teams will be wanting to prove a point.

I always think in T20, you need a short memory, bad days happen simply because of the way the format is, and all it takes is one player to come off to win it.

What I will say is that, Madsen is a perfect example of why Yates should have stayed in the team. Form matters, stick with the hot hand, Madsen has scored 5 50’s in a row now, including a century. If something is working, don’t over think it, stick with it.

Poor selection of team. We used 7 bowlers which didnt include Mo so why not sit one of those out and play the extra batsman in Yates? Still onwards to the next one and hope we learn from our error.

I just do not understand why Mo was given the captaincy. Davies has obviously done a good job and he knows all the players. Mo arrives and is in charge without having seen anyone play which explains why 7 bowlers were used.

I agree with most of what has been said.
Although Derbyshire aren't the best team in the Group, I think that Mickey Arthur has done a good job there in creating a team where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts so it's no disgrace to lose to them - but let's not get into the habit!
