12 man squad. The XI who beat Kent plus D. Briggs.
Poor weather forecast?
Bethell, stress fracture.

Going to be interesting to see if Briggs comes in - and if so who for. My guess is he won't, a home fixture is not a place for a spinner, at this stage of the season. I reckon we'll be unchanged. Mind you he had a good first day for the 2nd's - 5 for 53 off 24 overs.

Looking at the forecast I don’t think we’ll find out the 11 tomorrow. It’s supposed to start raining around 10 and not stop until well into the afternoon.
It’s not that great any of the days really. Perhaps handy to take a draw off Surrey at this point and then play them without Foakes and Pope later in the year.
That's a real shame with Bethell because this year could, and probably would've been his breakthrough year.
I guess he can still bat but is he good enough to play as a specialist batsman?

11 released - same team as Kent, so Briggs misses out
Bears are 23/3. Lost the toss and naturally Surrey decided to field in cold overcast conditions. Davies just threw his wicket away top edging a decent length ball. Hopefully Sam Hain can dig in....
Sounds like tough batting conditions on the radio commentary. Though I wish they would take Clive Eakin off air, his heavy breathing is getting worse. It's like listening to Darth Vadar having an asthma attack at times.
Probably could've done with winning the toss. Only one team (Durham) in both divisions won toss and chose to bat.
Starting to spit in Bournville so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't come back out after lunch.

Yes, I've noticed that. I hope it's not a health problem. It is off-putting though.
94-6. Could be staring down the barrel of a big defeat here, their batting lineup is very strong.
Need a partnership or a weather intervention!
They are slightly ahead I'd say
We have a great bowling line up for this weather.
We really need to start winning the toss. I swear we lose it every time.

Keep up. Davies didn’t throw his wicket away....that’s Baz Ball! Obviously aiming for an England place.
The shot from Davies was totally unacceptable in the context of the score and the position in the game. He is not worth a place in the side, and the consitant poor dismissals shows he should be be trusted as vice captain.
The current opening partnership is not working, and ids putting pressure on Hains and Rhodes to rescue the side from bad starts every innings, the currents situation is not acceptable.
It is time for Robinson to make changes for the good of the entire team.
Damn that's annoying
If we went off with 6 wickets down that would have been a great little session
If its still cloudy tomorrow a score of 180 I don't think will be too bad
Time to head off now !
141/7 Woakes gone lbw for 27. Make that 141/8.....Hasan gone first ball!
OK ffs..
The light hasn't changed in 5 minutes but we have lost two wickets, very annoying.
We have to hope the conditions are the same tomorrow and we can bowl surrey out for around 200-220 then try bat big
We’ve certainly got the right bowlers for overcast conditions.
The openers did alright for the first two matches though Highveld, it almost feels like you have been waiting for them to fail. I’m certainly not in the pro Davies camp but after a couple of good scores I’m willing to give him a chance to show some kind of positive consistency. Yates had a lot to prove after struggling so much last season but has already shown some good form.
I’ve not been following and have just seen the score though so it is of course disappointing. Let’s see what how we do with the ball in our hands.
