I was out all day, so very pleased to read of the win, and that Rob Yates and Sam Hain played a big part in that.

The team looks to be getting stronger and more confident by the week, and the addition of Danny Briggs is looking to be a success, he's showing the character and determination the side needs.

Hopefully the good days are not too far ahead.

Also good to see Vihari made his first 50 for the club.

George Dobell has written a good little report, it’s easy to forget that Yates is only 21 and still studying at university. There is hopefully a lot of potential still to come.

Also mentioned was the way in which Essex escorted Yates back to the pavilion even though their dressing rooms were at the opposite side of the ground. A touch of class there which they are to be commended for.

Such a shame we were not able to be in the ground to show our appreciation to the lads.

We haven't had this sort of feeling in a long time.

I do think the experienced head of Tim Bresnan has had an impact. He's a fighter and a winner which is the sort of mentality you need to influence the team, especially the youngsters.

It really was a great result against a very strong team who generally find a way of winning from any given situation. As others have said, massive credit to Rob Yates, Sam Hain and Vihari but also to Mark Robinson and Will Rhodes who, it would seem, have galvanised a team who were previously lacking in confidence and self belief.

I don't think we're the finished article by a long stretch but I'm now looking ahead to the rest of the season with renewed optimism!

I missed the whole day's play because I was visiting my grandchildren - the right decision but I wish I could have done both!
I'm sure that there will be low points at some stage because that is the nature of sport; but we should for the moment just enjoy two great victories by a team that is showing great character and resilience.

Was following it throughout the four days and, whilst we always ensured we were in the game, I was skeptical about us chasing down that total but full credit to the lads for a superb run chase and a superb performance over the four days. Yates, Vihari and Hain were brilliant in the way they controlled the chase and a special mention to Sam who ensured that the pressure was not on Yates in relation to the run rate as he upped it where necessary, showcasing why he is statistically the best 50 over player in history (which I still find mad).

It is still early days, but the new coaching setup seems to be paying dividends. On the previous forum I had made my views on the Troughton appointment quite clear and that I was totally against it and I saw nothing during his time leading the side to dissuade me from that opinion. It seems now that we are moving in the right direction at last.

Great for us exiles to be able to get the matches streamed, no matter how imperfectly. It seems a long time ago that we were able to watch live first-class cricket streamed or televised for free. I guess once spectators are admitted to the grounds we won't have that...will we? And it's certainly nice to be able to watch a young, feisty Warks team in action.

I think we surprised Essex and to have Harmer go wicketless in the 2nd innings after bowling all those overs was a great achievement. I was more confident of us chasing this 256 than last weeks 333. We can't complain so far, a great start to the season may it continue and in front of spectators as well.

I agree that we can't complain; but I suspect that it won't be too long before someone on here rises to the challenge!

It’s been refreshing to see the optimism on here. Though I did see a comment on Facebook under Will Rhodes interview complimenting the side on the final innings chase saying “you only scored 11”. It’s a shame people feel the need to say such things.

I come from a whole family of sporting pessimists. I think it's a West Midlands tradition, based on the assumption that if you expect the worst, you won't be disappointed if it happens and if things turn out well, you can be pleasantly surprised.
