Living in the South East I went yesterday. We were cruising but the turning point was Rhodes bringing Yates on to bowl again. I don't know why he did this as the other bowlers were all doing well and we only needed 3 more wickets and we didn't have to use Yates to make up the overs. He conceded 20 from the over which gave Surrey a glimmer and the whole momentum of the game subsequently shifted. Very poor really as we had played very will up until then.

I didn't know that Pandya had to come off and that could have explained the erratic bowling changes at the depth. Might have explained Yates bowling so late too, like I said a gamble that didn't come off. I suppose the real test is how they go in the next game as they looked up for it against Gloucs.

I think Pandya is a going to prove himself to be a superb overseas signing, he clearly wants to take on a big role and be a leader.
Kimber was good but also he was dropped at least twice arguably because fielders were in disciplined and weren’t in the right position. He survived 2 run out attempts too that should have been out with good throws. Plus at least 25 of his runs came from big edges, cue ends and all sorts of bizarre shots going behind square.

Burgess’ interview was interesting saying that the bowlers were bowling back of length because that’s what our batsmen struggled with. And that worked for the first 7 wickets. But after that we should have bowled like they were tailenders because eventually they miss or sky it. Like we were trying to be too smart.

Rhodes and the bowlers on the field have plenty to answer for. But there’s still off the field questions like why we don’t have a plan for tailenders, what the bowling coach has been doing and why are they picking Kai Smith (nothing against him as a player but he’s unfairly picked to just field seemingly)?

Look at the last ball of the day! That is the ball we should of been bowling for the previous 10 overs, that's how you bowl to tailenders, no ifs or buts or we are far to clever to bowl yorkers, we bowl "back of a length". I have said before that I find this season incredibly frustrating and annoying, some of the on field decisions have cost us points and matches.

That was abysmal bowling at the end. Matt Mason, as the bowling coach has been useless. He's nowhere near as good as Graeme Welch. You have to question the decision making by the club's management. To me, Allan Donald should've got the role.

Do we think 'white-lightning' is actually Allan Donald, trying to get a job? lol
Wasn't that his nickname?

"Gizza job, I could do that!" says Allan.
