What a lovely place to watch cricket. Was very glad I made the journey both for the location and the result. Just always seemed in control.
What was interesting today was just how upbeat and content the team was; you could see them joking with each other, very relaxed and enjoying playing. Very different from the atmosphere we’ve seen in the CC and T20.
It does make me wonder how much the overseas and new signings in all formats have destabilised the changing room. As this team was essentially the team that won the championship last year minus Hain and Briggs, and it showed. They were top class in every facet.

Perhaps some of the signings, new personalities, T20 prioritisation and behind the scenes issues have had a much bigger on field effect than we realised (as well as seeing 3 big name players leave this year).

I agree that Cheltenham is a great place to watch cricket.
It was a good batting performance, though some of the Gloucestershire bowling was dire. Yates looked like the player he was last year and Sibley paced his innings beautifully.
I never thought I would have to duck to avoid being hit by a Sibley six. The guy behind me got hit on the shoulder so maybe I should have caught it.

And the shot of the day was Sibley's lofted drive over extra cover. True, if the fielder there had been a bit taller he would have been caught but that was not the case. Great to see him have the confidence to play such a shot.

I’m pleased he isn’t, but how is Michael Burgess not in the 16.4 tournament when players with less experience, less skill and less ‘end result’ are? Absolutely baffling....which in a way sums up the 16.4!

A good day and obviously a good win. I still maintain the idea of outground cricket is better than the reality. Nice location but the facilities and viewing is never the best and they can be uncomfortable. The College Ground is a nice setting though I must say, it's definitely of the better outgrounds.

Very good point about the vibe being so upbeat and positive all game long amongst our guys. They had smiles on their faces from the get go and seemed to enjoy playing with one another.

Yates looked fantastic I thought and Sibley got better after an iffy start.

OHD, Norwell and Miles along with Bresnan were all injured for either the beginning or the entirety of this comp last year. Definitely make a difference having some experience in the line up.

Krunal was good and enthusiastic. Darted it in and looks a decent fielder too.

Outfield was rapid. Absolutely scorched.

I like the idea of calling THAT game 16.4

Someone coined the term "donkey slog" for T20 cricket, which I thought was rather apt. In the spirit of Monty Python's competition to find a derogatory term for the Belgians, though, I don't think I can find a more derogatory name for the new competition than "The Hundred".

How about 'The HunDREAD'.
