I guess it's the bit about wanting to play across all formats that is significant.

Worcestershire are in need of batting help, and Hose hadn't performed in red ball games so was unlikely to get another chance.
On the Pears' site, Adam says:
"Ed (Pollock) was given his chance to play more red-ball cricket after moving to Worcestershire from Warwickshire, and I’m hoping I can also earn that opportunity with my form and in training.”

In strict isolation I probably just agree with the decisions to allow Stone and Hose to leave. With Hose, he was never going to play red ball again, limited value if the One Day cup is development and was patchy in T20 - though he has had a good season. The crucial thing is how are we going to replace him? Mouseley the full-time #5 in T20 with Benjamin at #6? Assume that means Hain at 4, Davies, Bethell and Mo up top.
Sorry to see him go as he was dynamic in T20 and a good fielder. We have Mr Ali returning so it could be seen as a straight swap. Just hope we pick a better overseas player for that competition.
Management have been shocking this summer. How to destroy a Division 1 Championship winning team in 10 months......
Hose already been dropped from the Worcestershire red ball team: https://wccc.co.uk/hose-included-in-second-squad-for-lancashire-encounter/
Wasn't that the reason he went there?
I think from memory of an interview he did, he wanted to play red ball, but as much as anything he didn’t want a white ball only deal which is what he was being offered. He said it was too early to specialise like that, and he didn’t know in the next year or 2 if he’d still have the franchise gigs he has now.
Whereas at least at Worcestershire he still has the ability to play red ball, he seems next in line, and he’s getting paid as a player that plays all formats.
