I feel a bit sorry for Benjamin. He’s not a number 3, he’s inexperienced, he got a pretty ordinary decision by the looks of it, and he’s always out there in the first 5 overs.

Davies can just leave now, not our best keeper, not one of our best openers, fails time after time. On a huge wage, doesn’t seem to care, and is picked no matter what.

The same problems week in week out. We can see Benjamin isn't a number three, but our management haven't got a clue. This team is totally bereft of any confidence. Due to the poor weather forecast tomorrow, we'll likely get an undeserved draw against one of the worst teams in Division One.

If only the management came on this site, they would see what we all think of the way our team are performing. We don't want to criticise but it is getting to be beyond a joke if the same mistakes are being made over and over again. If we, without any qualifications in coaching (I haven't in any form, perhaps some on here have) can see how players are getting out or bowlers throwing pies, then what are the men with the certificates doing? No good suddenly realising what is wrong if we are stuck at the bottom of the table. It isn't just on the field, who had the final say on overseas players in both CC and T20? Who put Benjamin at 3 and why is Danny Briggs in T20 coming in after everyone else - This is the man who hit a very quick 50 in last years deciding CC game when we needed to score a certain amount of runs, in the most pressurised situation he has ever been in. Would love to get a message to the lot of them, "Dear management, on our site we might not have all the solutions but at least we can see the problems which you seem to be missing".

Hain has gone early, as has hope….

51/3. Hain gone for 16. The weather last night looked like it might end in a draw today. You can't rely on these forecasts! I'll be amazed if we save this.....even more so if we can somehow win it! Kent's new bowler Saini now has 7 wickets in this match.....

Not sure what the hell Kent think they’re doing.
Recognising they clearly have a weakness, and that their bowling isn’t good enough, so bringing in 2 international fast bowlers to improve their side and give them a much better chance to win.
Ludicrous decision making. Farbrace is probably laughing at them from his office.

Couldn't agree more, ridiculous decion but it serves them right they've no chance of getting into Division 2 now! They'll be forced to play another season in Division 1, whereas The Bears ...............

Henry is a good bowler but this bloke Saini took 5 in the first innings and hardly seemed to bowl that many good balls, a mixture of no-balls, innocuous bouncers and 4 balls. I think with his ordinary record, it is our batsmen making him look good, we appear to have done plenty of that this season. Pity we didn't think along the same lines. I suppose to be fair, at the beginning of the season, the management saw Woakes, Stone, OHD, Norwell, Miles and McAndrew and wondered who they would have to leave out. They wouldn't have known about injuries. Having said that, the batting is woeful and we are even making this Quinn look like a demon.

This is going to be an embarrassingly heavy defeat.

Nice to see the lads knuckling down and fighting hard for the cause...

Is it the pitch? Is it a lack of confidence? Have they given up? Why did Hain come in and try smacking boundaries right at the start of the day? Who is making the decisions?

Answers on a postcard.

Certainly, to bowl out a team for 165 and still lose by 200 odd runs as seems likely takes some doing......only Surrey next too!

It gets to a point where a result like this is necessary to bring on the changes required. Just have to hope the management see it the same way, which isn't a given.

The selection of Mousley ahead of Matt Lamb was a massive success.
Presumably Sam Hain will be dropped for the next game as he scores too many runs!

If we are indeed releasing Matt Lamb in order to create space for the likes of Mousley and Benjamin then its total madness.

Dan and Chris may well turn out to be the guys but right now they not quite ready for regular spots in the 4 day side.

Young inexperienced players trying to establish themselves but coming into a dysfunctional and struggling team is not likely to be conductive to positive development.

I agree with you about Chris B, Andy, but I do think Dan deserved a place - he has got a great batting record for the 2nds this season and his bowling is useful. But I do think Benjamin didn't deserve any more chances - at No 3 or No 6. Matt Lamb has been treated disgracefully. There's no way Benjamin should be in, in front if him.

And as for the number of opportunities Davies as been given.........!

That was as spineless and inept a batting performance as I have seen for a long time. The batting and bowling line ups look all wrong, the body language is meek and everyone seems to be looking at OHD and Sam to get them out of the mire. A big re-think is required.

It takes an impressive effort to lose by such a large margin after bowling out the opposition on the first day for 160-odd
