"Birmingham Bears have confirmed arrangements for a home Vitality Blast quarter-final, should they finish in the top two of the North Group.

Subject to qualification, the Bears will host a home quarter-final at Edgbaston Stadium on Thursday 7 July, 6.30pm start. Confirmation of a top two finish and the quarter-final opponent will be confirmed on Sunday (3 July) following the final round of group fixtures.

Full Club Members, Season Pass holders and Blast & Hundred Members for the 2022 season will be able to attend the fixture for free by simply scanning their Membership Card at the stadium entrance points.

Members will also have a priority window to purchase additional tickets from 12noon on Monday 4 July, with tickets going on general sale from 3pm on Monday 4 July. We will be in contact with you again on Monday with further details on how you can purchase additional tickets.

Adult tickets will be available for only £10 in advance and £15 when purchased on the day.
12 to 15-year-olds will be £1 and under 12s will go free.

Tickets will be available to buy online at tickets.edgbaston.com.

Members will not be able to use any guest passes for this match. All timings are subject to change."

Credit where credit is due, the club have done a great job to arrange a home quarter final, on a day that wasn't originally scheduled to have any quarter final. Definitely preferable to playing at Leicester and definitely preferable to playing well.

Am also pleasantly surprised members are allowed in free, perhaps not expecting a big crowd due to it being on a Thursday rather than Fri/Sat?

No doubt it is on Thursday to fit in with Sky TV. Sky then in their meanness won't allow free streaming on You Tube!!

Yeah, which explains why they didn't initially schedule a game for the Thursday and put two on the Friday. Sky doesn't rule for once!

A good article, particularly interesting to hear his thoughts about his contract renewal and ambitions to play the red ball format. It would appear he doesn’t see himself as a white ball specialist which could make those contract talks tricky.

I didn't either but Leicestershire must be hurting after Yorkshire only scraped through because of the point deduction that Leicestershire got and that after beating them in the last game. Sometimes when fortune smiles at you in cricket it can take you all the way, Worcestershire's CC titles in 1964, 1974,1988 and 1989, Hampshire being saved from relegation in 2016, Pakistan's world cup 1992. There are many more.

Yes, the Worcestershire Championship win in 1964 was a total fluke. They only clinched the title with a mere three games to play and scraped home with 41 points more than the second placed team (who happened to be Warwickshire). They somehow managed to win four more games than the Bears and lose two fewer.
Pure luck or maybe an early example of match fixing or possibly biased umpiring - probably all three.
