Whisper it, but this lad looks a bit special. Very quick and aggressive. Super fielder.

sounds great !
Our bowling stock is looking impressive
Having had a quick look today at Taunton, I agree that he looks to have potential. Very lithe and loose-limbed, he seems to have a good action and to generate a fair bit of pace.
Pleased to see that he now has a contract:

Encouraging from a Bears perspective. Terrible to see this talent drain in West Indies cricket keep happening though.
Yes I agree with both sides of your comment. Shame Warwickshire and English cricket more generally can't put the same effort into developing domestic cricketers as they do into nicking young talent from other countries. No blame on Che of course, who has an English passport and is furthering his career
Absolutely, can't blame the lad, great opportunity for him.
I mean Jacob Bethell has had a relationship with Warwickshire since he was about 14, he originally came to the UK for educational purposes. He's come through the Warwickshire academy and played age group cricket with us.
Simmons though, we've nicked a player here.
Pre-season game with Worcestershire he looked very sharp indeed. Only seen bits and pieces of him for the 2nds team he seems to be able to put gas on for spells when required but also bowl within himself which is a heck of a skill. If the weather stays mainly dry over summer and the pitches go rock hard I can see him possibly even getting a game or two (The Oval game in July for example) as he will be a handful even at this early stage of his development.
He has now signed a contract extension:
