Type of innings Hain really needed it

He has the talent to do this consistently

Well done to the batsmen. Hain is looking strong this season. Knowing our luck he'll be selected for England soon.....!

Watched every ball today and was very impressed with the attitude of not being worried if runs don't come quickly. It pays off in the end if you back your technique and it was good to see us keep Northants in the field looking frustrated like we were for 5 sessions. Thought they overbowled Kerrigan who just looked frustrated and pretty knackered by the end of it. Hain was superb and it took me back to the title winning afternoon, holding the trophy with him, a really great bloke and so happy for him to dig in and bat all day.

He's just so solid. I love the way he ticks over without you noticing, look up at the scoreboard and he's got 40 and you think "how's he done that?!".

Spare a kind thought for poor Simon Kerrigan - bowling figures for this season so far 79 overs, 0-333.

I really could live without pitches like this.

Nice to see the batters being greedy. Hain and Lamb are in great form.

On recent form Rob Yates must be very greatful he signed a long term contract last season.

It was great to see Sam Hain and Matt Lamb get big scores, they are the core of our batting line up.

Be interesting to see if they persist with Davies as maybe it would kick start Yates season if he goes back to opening. However the problem with Burgess at 6 is the lack of batting after him.

Bowling wise its clear we miss the injured quicks and I'm not sure what's happened to Briggs, is Lintott worth a go?

Id like to see Yates back opening. 5 tons from there last season then moved down to 3. Hmm...

I know what you mean about Briggs, I feel like his figures this season have flattered him a bit.

Early season pitches usually aren't great for spinners. The only spinner with more wickets than Briggs in Division 1 at the moment is Matt Parkinson.

Oh for sure. Just feel his wicket tally slightly flatters him.
