Could we struggle to get up for this? Many changes? No Woakes. Weather forecast? Anyone going?

I think there may be a sense of anti-climax for both teams.

Got tickets for days 1 & 2
Might go on the Wednesday. Is it true you can't get tickets in the gate? It's touch and go whether I'll get the day off work...

That's correct, see here:

It does say that tickets are issued as soon as the transaction is complete though, so I imagine that you'll be able to buy one through the website and be able to use it immediately.
Ah ok, cheers

As for you getting the time off work, I sense that you might have a cold coming on. You don't want to pass it on to others so a day in the open air may be just what you need.
I don't think it's been announced yet but Holder is not in the squad for Lord's - supposedly, he had/has a shoulder niggle. One or both of Miles and Norwell might not play depending on how well they have recovered from the Somerset game. I would think Johal is a near certainty to play instead of Woakes who is definitely unavailable.
Squad is up. No Holder. Johal, Sidebottom and Garrett are all in. So is Benjamin. And the rest of the usual faces.
Considering Holder wasn’t around on the day we won the title, he played a couple of games so actually had more involvement than Hose and Pollock, I presumed he had gone home already.

I guess one of the three will start in place of Woakesy. A fair bet could be Manraj, he's had a cracking end to the season with the Seconds and promises much for the future. It could be Ryan though - either because he might be being released soon (a bit of a swansong), or because he still has something to offer.

Johal in for Woakes

Well, Lancs 9/4! What a start! Miles and Norwell bowling superbly. Miles has taken 3 wickets.
Lancs 57 for 8 now ! I know winning the toss was crucial at this time of year (and putting them in), but our seam bowling has been immaculate - Norwell, Miles and Johal (I guessed he'd be in, he really has been amazing for the Seconds in the last month or so), all totally bamboozling the Lancies !

That's why we're champions.
Not bothered that they came off for bad light, start again tomorrow, have a good look at the long range forecast and work accordingly. It makes those ridiculous 'celebrations by Lancs on the Thursday after their game, look really stupid. Over the last month, Somerset have not managed to bat well twice in any game and Lancs were hanging onto the hope that the Somerset of the last 4 years would turn up on the last day. Nice to hammer home why we won the CC and whoever had the decision of getting Norwell/Miles from Gloucestershire, did a great job. One downside from a selfish point of view, does anyone else get the feeling that England will want to get their hands on Norwell and Yates. I am always pleased when our players get international recognition but it also means we will barely see them.
Would be over the moon to see Norwell go away this winter and Yates get a go next summer. We do have players to come back and the way we won the championship as a team effort suggests we'd cope with their loss better than we might expect especially with Davies to come in, the Brookes brothers, Bethell and Mousely next season too
That was like the first day of the Boxing Day test in 2010, only better.
