Is there anywhere online with details of all our injuries? I’m not sure if I’ve missed an official club release along the way.
Not sure how we go in the game, really in the balance from just looking at the scoreboard. But glad we got a proper development team out against a decent amount of county experience and they're not getting panned. Chris Benjamin in particular had played two really good knocks. I see he is SA born but has spent at least three summers playing in the UK. England qualified? Does anyone know?
So the priority seems to be to not try and win this game then if we are allowing 3 in-form players to miss the game to play in a tour game. I agree that it is nice to see new faces in a side and hope they do well but this is stupid. I am glad I am not watching. If it looks as though a similar team will be out for Sunday's game then I might give it a miss. If you consider that I am a member like many others and didn't sign up for us to send out a 2nd XI, this would be nothing short of "taking the p***".

Well, the Captain, Miles and Yates should be back at least. I guess 3 of the youngsters will drop out for them. To be honest, with them back, we won't be far short of a reasonably strong XI. That's not to say we'll do any better than today though - 221 is not great and Glamorgan are cruising along with the run rate, only 3 wickets down.

That definitely wasn’t the greatest pitch in the world. Everyone seemed to struggle to score. Think perhaps our effort was more competitive than we at first thought.
Nice to see Brookes and Bethell contribute really well with the ball.
Really good from Burgess and Benjamin too. Though it did annoy me that Benjamin seemed more interested in 100 practice than building a score. If he’d have gone on, instead of going for glory, and played the bigger picture like Burgess and got an extra 20 runs or so, we probably win that match.
Great effort from such a young and inexperienced side. Bit of a heartbreaker in the end. Impressed with the spin of Bethell and Lamb, Sidebottom showed great heart, Johal and Brookes looked competitive.

I think your anger should be directed at the ECB and The Hundred rather than Warwickshire CCC…
Back over from Ireland this week so might pop down on Sunday and/or Thursday
I do think the club are taking the members/supporters for granted here, other clubs seem to be taking this more seriously than us.
Appreciate we have injuries (when dont we) but i'm hoping the 3 players slot back into the side on Sunday.
£15 quid for a game is the same as last year when we had a full side out, could have dropped it down for a second 11 game.
The club played the strongest available side yesterday, remember there are players missing due to injuries, England call ups and the un wanted competition.
Unlike Derbyshire, we have fullfilled all our fixtures.
It is technically a first team game, and the club needs all the gate income it can get right now, we are still in a global pandemic, if you hadn't noticed!
I enjoyed the match yesterday even though Sophia Gardens isn't my favourite ground. I thought most of the young players acquitted themselves pretty well.
With Tim Bresnan, Henry Brookes, Olly Hannon-Dalby, Dan Mousley, Liam Norwell and Olly Stone all out injured and other players out because of the match against the Indians and because of The Hundred, I thought it was a good effort for the chosen eleven to have come so close to winning.
As Exiled Bear says, if anyone should be blamed it's ECB and the hundred (and our problem keeping seamer fit). Personally I'm happy to see our development players get a decent crack in a sustained way and if its against top players than so much the better.
I mentioned the level playing field and the international problem up the feed, but as ever there is a precedent with rugby. The domestic cup competition is now a development competition but there does seem a gentlemen's agreement that the group stages are youngsters then you get more first teamers for the semi finals and final. Perhaps there is a quota of fully-capped players at play somewhere and I wouldn't mind seeing that here.
Intrigued on the point about reducing the entrance fee (it's the same price as the Oval where I will be heading on 10 August) but I guess there must come a point where reducing it even further starts to risk not covering costs.
It would almost certainly be cheaper to play the game behind closed doors, the stewarding, and catering staff costs will far exceed any income from spectators.
The Derbyshire option, of fortitting games would be even cheaper!
It’s a bit harsh on Derbyshire, they did manage to field a squad yesterday.
This is the trouble that counties are going to face, especially the smaller ones. Small squads faced with injuries with key players poached by the 16.4, together with self isolation due to COViD I’m surprised more counties haven’t been forced to forfeit.
