First bit of cricket i'll be watching in the flesh this season.

Any changes for this one? OHD potentially fit according to Westwood - if so I would bring him in for Fernando but it's unlikely that Fernando will be dropped in his third match of a three match deal

When you say 'In the Flesh', are referring to the 1977 Pink Floyd tour or the fact that you are coming to the game to strip off down to your Mankini. If it is the second one, please don't sit at the city end, they can be brutal.

Looks like the eleven that played against Durham plus OH-D. If he is now fit, he surely has to play.

Maybe Taz Ali will drop out for him and we'll risk Yates/Mousley as the spinners.

I can see that happening but not sure that would be wise given the way Edgbaston is playing!

Should be Fernando getting dropped, no question as a left armer if you camt swing the ball at medium pace, yer cannon fodder im afraid.

Was impressed by Taz and the wicket taking threat he seemed to pose.

5fer incoming for Fernando.

Weather forecast for first two days seems to have got worse. Let's hope it is wrong.

Green pitch and ball swinging.

With the conditions leaving Taz out is, probably, the right decision, these really aren't the conditions for a young spinner.

A really impressive performance from our "best in the championship" opening pair, both back in the pavillion within 20 minutes of the game starting. Sam Hain must be getting fed up of having to rescue the side from poor starts almost every game.

Talk delays are very frustrating. Glad I couldn’t make it today. I’m 20 miles away and we haven’t had a drop even though my garden really needs it.

I should be along tomorrow until departing for Villa Park. Hoping conditions are better!

Not great losing the toss in these conditions. Shaikh and Hain were just getting accustomed to the wicket. This game looks as though it'll be affected by the weather, particularly today and tomorrow. Sunday looks a bit better. Poor display by our openers this morning.

Bizarre rain today - must have been very localised to Edgbaston to take away so much play.

Hope we get a full day tomorrow. Shame we have to start again now.

If three seamers can’t get the wickets not sure how four will improve things. Hope we don’t regret not picking Taz.

Forecast would suggest we may get a full day tomorrow. It is changeable though and would seem (seam?!) it's gonna be overcast all day.

Shame we lost that toss.

The forecast seems to have improved again.
In overcast conditions, I would much rather have four seamers to rotate the bowling than just three.

If the forecast has improved doesn’t that make overcast conditions less likely? It’s unlikely we bowl until Sunday hopefully.

Normally a balanced attack would be three seamers and two spinners. Until the West Indies changed cricket four seamers was pretty rare. Ours are batting 8,9,10,11 so does seem a bit excessive unless we know something about the pitch.
