Tyler McGladdery is the only new name in the squad, a left hand bat/SLA from Burnley.
On a trial as with the T20 squad and injuries we need additional bodies.
Yates is back from injury - opening with Sibley. Benjamin stays as Captain and Keeper, Kelley in just as a batter.

What happened to Montgomery? Scores a load of runs on T20 finals day and now has disappeared.
Is he a student?
Assume he was just signed for the day, as we were short of players.
Also, we have top order first team players involved in this game so may not have needed him.

Currently, we're 34 for 3. Yates, Malan and Ethan B, all out in single figures! Sibley, hanging around, as he can - and McGladdery in.

Yorkshire finished the day on 13/2, there was no play after 4:46 due to rain.

We made 135 (in 60 overs !) - mainly due to 31 from Sibley and 20's from McGladdery, Benjamin and Roshan Balaji. Kelley struggled to get a duck (from 12 balls), adding to a major lack of scores in his time in the 2nd's - clearly he can't fulfill the batsman role (and he has lost the keeping job), so I guess he won't with us next season ? Malan also only got 1 and has a lot to do now, to prove his signing was worthwhile.
As Highveld says, the Yorkies are on 14 for 2 (off 13 overs), so it is obviously a bowling wicket. It should be interesting to see if they can overtake our score today.

Kelley isn't getting any runs in the B'ham league, despite being allowed to bat in the top 5 for his club.
A back up keeper and asome back up for Briggs have to be a priority over the winter.
The Yorkies got a 1st innings lead of 131 in the end. Only our experienced bowlers made much of a mark - Sidebottom, 4 for 42 (off 21) and Norwell, 3 for 35 (off 19.3). Yates, Johal and Roshan Balaji did pick up a wicket each though.
In our 2nd Innings, at last, Yates and Malan got their act together, putting on 71 for the 2nd wicket (so far !); Yates, 36 and Malan, 31. Dom S failed again though - just 2 !

Kelley has actually batted quite well this afternoon. He's made a game of this. We were struggling at 256 for 8, a lead of only 127, but he made 35 NO and took the target to 213. At least we have a chance now.

We lost fairly convincingly in the end. The Tykes finished on 214 for 3. The only wicket takers were Norwell (2 for 24 off 8) and Yates (1 for 40 off 11). Ryan S (11 overs for 18 runs) and Manraj Johal (11 for 19) bowled very economically, but the rest were comprehensively despatched - Garrett (12 for 46) and Roshan Balaji (10 for 55).
Over the 2 innings, the only batters who came out with any glory were Yates (97) & Malan (62) in the 2nd innings and to a lesser extent in the match, Chris Benjamin (22 & 28) & Tyler McGladdery (21 & 34). As I said, Kelley, did get some runs at last, in the 2nd innings (35) - but I fear that may be too late for his future with us. With a Summer contract now for Benjamin, he has already lost his keeping job.
Of the bowlers, only the two experienced guys, Norwell (5 for 59) and Sidebottom (4 for 60) came out of it well. George Garrett must be getting worried for next season - 0 wickets again, in 25 overs (for 92 runs).

I'd think there could we be a number of changes in the squad for next season.
Players like Garrett, Furrer, Sidebottom and Kelley are not putting forward any reasons to be in the first team, or indeed to have a contract extention, so I'd not be surprised if they were released at the end of their contracts.
Benjamin and Bethell have already been added to the squad, with others to follow.
Has Furrer played at all this year? Seen him running drinks and general 12th man duties for the firsts, but not a single ball bowled.
Assuming he has an injury of some sort.
I think he's played a small amount of SET20, but a lot less games than some non-contract players eg Roshan Balaji.
We'd be crazy to give up on Kelley at aged 18, wouldn't hurt to give him another year or 2 to see how he develops. He's not been playing or keeping because he's been injured.
Kelley is definitely a superior keeper to Benjamin.
Reading between the lines on the comments made, looking at the number of byes he’s conceded etc. The club clearly like Benjamin as a batsman, but there’s a lot of work needed to get him to be an acceptable back up keeper.
Especially when you consider he’d be stepping in for Burgess and the level of gloveman that he is.
It will be interesting for the rest of the season to see who does better with the bat in red ball, Benjamin or Kelley.
