2018.
2018.
Both left at the end of 2018 in time for the 2019 seasons. Chris Wright signed for Leics in July 2018 Keith Barker's move to Hants wasn't confirmed until September 2018.
Think the thing that has impressed me about Chris Wright since leaving is the way he's stayed generally injury free. If you cast your mind back he had some terrible back injuries with us from about 2014 onwards.
They both left at the end of the Kent match at Edgbaston when we won the 2nd division title and it was also Trott's last game. 3 players like that going in 1 season, what a blow. It seems huge now but we have not done too badly despite that.
A few old bears in the Pears vs Derbyshire match, Pollock is on 14 off of 123 balls and that includes two boundaries from the last over. Not what is usually seen from Ed.
Ed Pollock hasn't had too much success as a Pear - he could do with playing an important innings here.
I get the impression that Alex Thomson has settled in well at Derbyshire and is often taking useful wickets.
I tend to follow Derbyshire a little and Thomson has not played a great deal really. They have a few spinners who can contribute but are not overly consistent. They were excited by Lambs arrival but after a few good performances at the start of the season he has struggled with injuries and a loss of form.
Can anyone identify the players in this photograph:

I'm hopeless at names and faces.

Yes, thanks.
Good to see Alex Thomson getting a new contract at Derbyshire who have been having a bit of a clear-out of players:

He's done well fair play. He was out of favour for quite a bit at one point but he's turned in some decent performances since coming back in lately.
I see that, for personal reasons, Chris Wright is no longer moving to Sussex next year.
“Personal reasons”.
I wonder if the repeated volleys of abuse Sussex launched at Leicestershire might have something to do with that.
Or if he realised Leicestershire weren’t in as bad a place as he thought when he chose to leave earlier in the season.
Looks like Chris Wright is staying at Leicestershire, though a few others are leaving:

Seems like Chris Wright was extremely unlucky. He hardly qualifies as one of the big time Bears/ex-Bears drug takers:

Seems fairly obvious why his move to Sussex collapsed.
Just read the official ruling document, tell you what, it’s brutally tough.
Full, very detailed investigation by 2 independent experts proves it was by accident, punished essentially for trusting the ingredients on the bottle, not going on the companies website where they have a separate and different disclaimer, but the same ingredients listed. And that he didn’t ask the club doctors.
