BBC Radio coverage of County Championship in danger
It’s apparently under threat. Listening to how Dave Bracegirdle signed off earlier on the live feed as it came to a close today and was concerned to hear it hinted quite strongly that all the BBC commentataries are at risk as the Beeb are considering closing the commentary service down.

Sadly a consequece of people wanting the BBC's budgets cut.
Covering cricket is expensive, covering cricket properly can be very expensive.
There were days this season when there was no representative of BB WM or CWR on the comentary. Both the local stations have good commentators on their sports staff, but with budget cuts and other demands on their time, the stations are unable to allow them to cover every day of every game. Some of the comentators this season were dreadful, in some cases with very limited knowledge of the game or the ability to provide a good commentary.

That would be a real shame. Perhaps the clubs can fund the service from the millions being brought in from the 16.4? That particular competition has a massive marketing budget, of which even a fraction could subsidise county cricket coverage.
On the plus side we might never have to hear Clive Eakin's heavy breathing again.
