Yes he's done very well, like I said in the Gloucestershire thread I'd like us to stick with him as captain too and give him the opportunity to grow more into the role.

I'm fairly happy with our batting, we've shown fairly significant signs of improvement and most of out batters are young with time on their side and plenty of scope to improve. We've not really had much of a tune out of Hain this season in 4day cricket but we've not been blown away too much either despite that. Our opening partnerships have improved vastly. There'll be bumps along the rode but we should stick with them.

A definite positive that I think needs acknowledgement amongst what is becoming an increasingly negative supporter base.

I supposed we couldn’t get away all game without batting at 1030!

And morons like Norcross and Collins were calling for it in the test series!

We have the best batting & bowling points in the division though..........do they hand out trophies for that?

Apologies for the sarcasm & negativity but I have just about had enough of this ongoing malaise.

At least OHD showed application and resistance in a very difficult position

Barnard will have to hit out now and see if he can save us the follow on, if not we are in real trouble here

Negative or Realistic?

Perhaps some of the supporters are not happy about the acceptance, and indeed encouragement, of mediocrity from Robinson and others in management.

It is hard to be positive coming to the end of another dismal season. The collapse from 76/1 to 128 all out is a case in point.

Yep, as KoS says, there are no positives at the moment. We are a complete shambles. The only consolation from this (inevitable) defeat by our main rivals, is that it MIGHT hasten our resolve to get rid of Robinson et al. But I am not holding my breath!

I cannot believe that our coach and captain are in any way having a positive impact on this group of players. As for sticking with Davies to “allow him to grow into it” I can only ask for a shred of evidence that he will ever become a leader and influencer of this county. Are we simply going to accept yet another dire season, with no progress, whilst these people grow into their roles?

Completely agree with you BR, it should bring about the demise of Robinson - and Frost - but, as I said on Monday, in the Gloucestershire thread, whether Larsen and/or the Management Committee have the balls to do it, is another matter.

Do the players just want the season to be over as well?

This is so poor it has to lead to big changes (which we needed last year ...)

Like any workplace with toxic leadership people wouldn't want to be there, the current leadership is toxic.

We are only going to be saved here by the even greater ineptitude of Kent Notts and Lancs.

Well, I mean, he is the highest run scorer in the division. Its a good while since we had a captain worthy of his place in the XI without doubt.

Doesn’t make him a captain. Which he isn’t. Doesn’t make him a motivator of his teammates. Which he isn’t. Doesn’t help us a county. Which he doesn’t.
