Suggestions they will miss the T20 QF to be involved with an England squad.

Will Robinson and Cain comment on this I wonder! Ridiculous.

Surely not as QF 6th and England don't play until the 11th.

Where does the suggestion come from Malc? I know cricinfo did a piece a while back to say it was a possibility, pair of them haven't done much since until this red ball game where they both got a knock. Of course, I rule nothing out with this England selection, Bethell probably gets in on dyed mullet vibes.

Since England play Australia in T20 internationals on the day before and the day after T20 Finals Day, I guess that none of the England squad will be available to play for their county on the big day. So if the Bears qualify, that will include Bethell and/or Mousley if they are selected for England.

I'll swap them Bethell and Mousley for Chris Woakes. Is that a deal?

Both are included in the T20 squad, so would miss the T20 finals day, if Warwickshire were involved.

That is yet another example of how the ECB do not care at all about county cricket. Years ago, the B & H cup and Gillette/Natwest were prime competitions that all Test players got to play in.

I doubt very much that Woakes would be available for finals day if we get there, as under a central contract and ECB may well want to rest him ahead of Pakistan tour (assuming he is selected).

Mo, on the other hand, should be available,

Good news for the players but bad news for our hopes in the Blast competition, and Robinson's job prospects.

No reason why Moeen shouldn't be available, if fit. Can maybe see Woakes being available, totally understand why he might not be though. Not that I'd agree with him not being available.

To not have Bethell and Mousley available would be absolutely dire for us though, both have been so instrumental in so many of our Blast wins. Mousley with the ball has such a unique skillet in that format, nobody really does what he does. As a lifelong Bears fan he'll be completely shattered to be missing out.

Yates/Barnard

Mo
Hain

It's not a terrible team for a semi final, though I think Rae is probably not qualified. Key man's probably Hain but don't know how far away he actually is.

Big "if" given our tendency to bottle in quarter finals day. Scheduling, is a shambles and makes a mockery of finals day.

In fairness to the ECB could it be they have chosen a squad from which they will release any involved in Finals Day .

It has not always been the case with the ECB, they do not care one bit and if a fixture list from years ago can see Test players never missing a cup game whilst the CC, B & H, Natwest, Sunday League had to be accommodated, then there is no excuse now. Woakes bowling 8 overs and a bit of batting in finals day (If we get there), is hardly going to wear him out.
