Yes, at least the 2 that have gone, are not used to these situations anyway but then again, this is the sort of thing we will have to get used to if the ridiculous ECB allow a few morons to take over the game and decide we need a new competition whereby the laws of the game are changed and players do not care about it apart from earning a good bit of dosh and trying to put themselves in the IPL and BigBash window and earning even more. Certain side might have to consider looking for short term contracts for decent overseas players, to play in this competition if they are serious about it.

That will be that for another season then.

Hamstrung by not having Yates & Shaikh in the lineup but we had enough experience in our bowling attack to have made more inroads on them, not good enough.

We are now being skittled by their 19 year olds, again just not good enough. We keep saying it but the mentality of our players is not a winning one, especially in the pressure games.

That’s Game over then, lots of mitigating factors to be in this position today but hard to disagree with lacking that winning mentality.

A winning mentality is fine but when you have so many young players who are not used to even playing in important games like this, it is hard for a team and continuity is another thing, so many players who are not used to playing with the few senior players we have in the side. For many of our young players playing in this game, this is the biggest game they have ever played in and they must be pretty nervous just being out there and a winning mentality is what a side is used to if they are at 75-100% strength which we are definitely not.

The Worcs bowling attack is extremely inexperienced though?

Watching Kai and Rhodes I don't think it's the young players so much... Kai could improve just a little by hitting spaces but he looks like he has confidence, energy and overall a good one day player. It was the same as he played at Rugby v Surrey.

Well played young man.

Could we snatch victory from the jaws of defeat? It’s getting very interesting…….

No - it was better than that!! What a mature innings from such a young man.

You don't see many one-day hundreds from a number 7 but to do it with so little experience is amazing. Looks like Leicestershire did something similar v Hampshire so major surprises from 2-3 hours ago.

Incredible, I thought everything was over with 10 overs to go and stopped following the game. Imagine, the surprise when I switched on to see the result.
Kai Smith is such a genuine prospect, reminds me of a young Sam Hain. He could go (very) far.

Wow

Had one of those rubbish weeks and at 77/5 all was lost.

What a magnificent innings from 19 year old Kai Smith!

His timing and placement were excellent but the way he paced the innings, only taking risks when it was really needed showed such maturity.

That has put a smile back on my face after writing them off earlier!

What an absolutely astonishing innings from Kai Smith - take a bow young man! Credit as well to Will Rhodes for sticking around with him. Just brilliant!

As Private Fraser would say ‘I never doubted them for a single minute’.

Maybe we do have that winning mentality after all? A great innings, I only wish I could have been there!
