Rob Yates and Hamza Shaikh are in the squad for the match against Sri Lanka starting next Wednesday so won't be available for the match against Notts in the One Day Cup - but Notts also have two players in the squad.

Not to dismiss the talent that Shaikh is, and a number of others in that squad. But if you’re not first choice for your county, you shouldn’t be playing for the lions (let alone the full England team).
So many under 19’s there, I’m assuming in part due to the fact that the ECB can only take so many players away from the counties right now.
Congratulations to Rob and Hamza for their selection, but not only does it mean they will be missing for the Notts match but also the QF. In addition, the semi final, if we get there, is the day after the four day SL match ends.

Yup. It's all in on Sunday against the Yorkists then. It's good for Hamza to get this shot, shows he's being invested in. Interesting point that Notts have two players in the squad also. I think Wylie comes in for Yates up top but no idea who bats for Hamza in the middle order.

Outrageous that Hundred players are exempt.
Great news for Rob and Hamza but bad news for our prospects in this competition. We are desperately short of a middle order batsman unless we can extract someone from the 16.4.
This does scupper our chances and seem like an odd time to have a game if you're not gonna pick the best players available.
Wylie for Yates as said above. Perhaps the new lad Malik comes in for Sheikh?
