Nice innings from Mo though I do wonder how Leicestershire got to within one game of going through, thought their bowling was like Worcestershire's, full of trundlers, Hull, a huge run-up only to deliver at medium pace. Poor middle overs from us, 29 runs from 5 overs from 10-14, not sure if Moeen was playing for his 100 but we have to stop getting stuck and letting ordinary bowlers just get knocked about for singles when we should push on, thought he and Bethel just didn't try to move it along quickly enough and to not make 200 was not a good effort even though we did win. The 'Benjamin Situation' is now beyond a joke, he had a good platform to come in to tonight but does not look like he can time the ball at all. In a tight situation in a knock-out game, he will struggle. Burgess could still get in the side but bat down at 7. I doubt he would let anyone down. Also, a shout out to Miles, he gets some flack but bowled well early on tonight and he is one of the best fast-bowling fielders I have seen.

I was interested to see those proposed XIs on the Northants feed. Agree with the ones without OHD and Burgess in them. The former I don't think is a T20 player anymore, too predictable, and Burgess just hasn't played T20 for so long now I don't think he could make an instant impact. Which he would need to do in a quarter final.

There’s 2 rounds of championship cricket between the end of the Hundred and 1 day cup, and the quarter finals.
Everyone comes in cold. That’s why the quarters will be a lot more of a lottery, it’s not just the best side, it’s the side who gets back into T20 rhythm the quickest.
But specifically on Burgess, I just look at him as a player, compare him to Benjamin and I cannot for the life of me understand why you’d pick Benjamin over Burgess. He can’t do any worse, the likelihood is that he’ll do better. He played T20 last season for Sussex. Outperformed all our players except Hain and Yates. For whatever reason Robinson just does not want him, it’s bizarre.

I know mate. Don't get it at all re Benjamin and it must be actively damaging him to keep on sending him out there. Even with the break, I can't see Burgess replacing him though.

Regarding the Benjamin situation, just what is the batting coach doing with him during the week? He hasn't improved at all, in fact with every game he looks worse and is clearly out-of-sorts. Surely there has to be questions asked about why he has been so poor and why there hasn't been any improvement from him all season.

What was most surprising to me was the decision to promote him to Sam Hain's slot at number four. If (for whatever reason) he was to be preferred to Burgess as keeper, I would have thought that he would have been hidden somewhere in the lower middle order.
Am I right in thinking that he is no longer in the Birmingham Phoenix squad for The Hundred this year? If so, that may mean that he will play in the 50 over competition.

Yes, a tasty squad with 4 Warwickshire players in it. Whoever came up with the idea of playing the domestic 50-over game with The Hundread going on during the same time, should be shot. People always said, "What a great opportunity for young players to be given an opportunity to play in the first team in the 50-over format, so they get experience whilst the big guns play in the Hundred..". Yes, like Mousley and Bethel who get that experience, become better player - AND THEN THEY ARE STOLEN AWAY FROM THEIR COUNTIES TO PLAY ELSEWHERE. Senseless.
